About Me
I'm a Spanish student. I studied Spanish in Mexico for one year and I'm proud to say that I'm bilingual! I struggle everyday with having Interstitial Cystitis so focusing on my Spanish helps me not to focus on the pain. My husband and I look forward to starting a family in the near future, once I secure a good job. I've struggled with IC for 5 years and I'm hoping for a miracle treatment in the future. Trying to cope with IC has been mentally and physically challenging but it has only made me stronger. I've been happily married for 4 years and couldn't be happier!

Close Interstitial Cystitis (IC)
Battling IC has been the most difficult thing that I've ever done. I have worked so hard on battling my depression and picking myself up when I'm down. Thank goodness for my husband because I could never go through this alone. I thought I could never deal with this disease and some days, I think I can't. But now, I realize that things could be much worse and I'm trying so hard to handle the pain on a daily basis.
Treatments
- Bladder Distention Not Working
- Yuck!
- Bladder Instillation Working / Worked
- The DMSO installations are so painful but after a series of them, they really help me.
- Elavil Working / Worked
- It helps me sleep at night, thank goodness.
- Elmiron Working / Worked
- My husband had an allergic reaction to Elmiron so I had to stop taking it. After a few months, it did help but my husband couldn't handle it.
- Hydrocodone Working / Worked
- Thank goodness my urologist prescribes this because it really helps me with the pain of DMSO installations and severe flares.
- VESIcare Not Working
- It caused more burning and made my symptoms worse
- Acupuncture Working / Worked
- Out of all the treatments Ive tried acupuncture helped my IC symptoms the most!
