Life changes so fast though. I had a similar discussion with one of my ex's last night. I would say a different stage of life. Your at the same stage. You both want the same thing and yet your taking a different road to reach it. Does that make sense? I am sorry to hear that your eldest son is home sick this week from school. I know having a child home sick isn't always the most pleasant (I love being an aunt....most of the time). Take care and enjoy the time you have with the kids now even if they are sick. It's only more that one can have to make memories out of. Memories last longer than those silly little moments, you know?

I totallu understand that. You'll have many different stages in friendships. Raising kids, divorces, grown kids and others have younger kids with their second husbands.....etc....
I have one friend that we been really best friends for almost 30 yrs!! We've been thru her first marriage, then the death of her husband..then we were finally on the same page when I got married for the first time and she for the second with in a month of each other. Then I divorced....she stayed married...and then I met my current my BF 4 yrs ago and have been like glue with him. The only time we were on the same page for yrs is when we were both in Nursing school together. I think that shows a true friend..one you can weather the storm with....

I have also read a book...that triggered alot for me and really brought me back to the dark place...
'The Courage to Heal" I felt like I could have writen that book. I hide it under my bed now....it's there but I can't bring myself to read anymore of it...

I've had that book also. I don't read it anymore either, don't even know where it is. It was very painful reading it, because it hit on feelings that felt and knew what this book was saying. It does heal you, the book, because it is like it is reading your psychy.

I'm still trying to get through that book, it's really hard to read without it triggering a memory and it's crazy how similar their story is to ours..i still have about a 1/4 left but its so draining and powerful that i have to force myself to read it
