B 12 Mood
Thursday, June 5, 2008

Yesterday my neurologist told me that I have a severe vitamin B 12 deficiency.  On doctor's orders, I have been taking a vitamin supplement which includes 300% of the minimum daily B 12 dose, but I still am deficient.  My neurologist said that many of my neurological symptoms (ataxia, tinnitis, collapsing, vertigo, dizzyness, etc.,) could be caused or exacerbated by this deficiency, and that, if left untreated, it could eventually cause dementia.  I'm still a little shocked.  She wants me to go to my family doctor to try to discover just what is causing this.
