Hi lorraine, thanks for the message you sent me a few weeks ago. \\i am sorry i havnt replied. I hope things are going well for you at the moment.
I am having a sleepness night with a few things going on....itching mainly. I am going to st thomas's lupus clinic on the 17th and looking forward to it. Hoping i might get my meds changed and an improvement in health....
I also have auto immune hepatitus and other stuff going on....so life can get crazy at times. Lately i am just so tired. My steroids have been reduced and all my symptoms have increased.
Where abouts in Scotland are you from? My parents are scottish and i was born in paisley as they were visiting a friend and my mum went into labour lol.
Hope your weekend is going well

hello - good to hear from you and hope you are doing better. sadly, my back is not good again and i'm getting injections of steroids tomorrow. i postponed my surgery (scheduled for june) b/c i was so much better. now, i'm considering it again - a laminectomy. my brother just had it and it was phenonmenally successful. he is back to his old self and will be playing tennis by christmas! so, there is hope for us - i think!!
take care and write when you can. -

dear lorraine - i don't know about the procedure that you refer to but it sounds awful. i will pray that you find relief and get a better diagnosis - can you go to a different doc or clinic? i suffered with terrible back pain for years, dealt with injections, meds and every other conceivable intrusion into my back and life and amazingly, after 5 years, i'm better. so, perhaps there is hope just trying to take care of yourself and doing only what you can - don't try to be your former self - try to relax - maybe that will help. let us know how you are doing.

Hope the injections give you some relief. I had "Lupus fog" or whatever the hell it is for ages. I was so worried I was losing the plot....when they did all my brain scans I told the Neuro. about my fears. So he said to put my mind at ease do a cognition tests. I did the test and the psych. said I was the first person she had tested to score 100 percent correct. I joked around about it...but underneath I was so relieved...there's only two things that have me really scared, losing my sight or losing my mind. Anyway Lozzy, my "fog" lifted and I am sure you will notice an improvement when you begin to get the right treatment plan. Just keep writing stuff down, and don't forget to do some simple "brain" exercises, crosswords, stuff like that....sounds weird but it does exercise your brain...My doctors are always saying...if you don't use it, you lose it...well that's one of the few things I actually think they have right! I am glad they are doing some positive things for you...it just seems with Lupus it takes so long for them to work it out...it's really a tricky disease....Thanks for your good wishes...and you keep in touch and just message if you need some support...love, light and peace from Aus.
