Was there for my 11AM admintance, answered all the questions, had my hospital gown and house coat, waiting, waiting,waiting and then at the time that the ordely were suppose tocome and get me, my surgeon shows up. :O
He had this look on his face, a look of discust, I knew at that point that I had been cancelled.
WHY?
The previous procedure he did went in overtime and the hospital closed the OR.
I'll skipp the rest, but you can imagine the ?&%&?#$ (*&???%$?& %%?$@$%#$%#(...:(
So next monday, I'm going to have an attack, it's going to hurt and I'm going in EMERGENCY, then, on Wednesday, I get operated...
It's been since December, this is the third cancellation, ENOUGH is 'NUFF!!!!!
BTW, I did have my 5 minutes with an administrator and told him what I thought of his $%$&?(* hospital. It was more for me,(tension relief) 'cus he had the "oh I'm so sorry this has happened" look on his face, great actor he was.

Oh no Denis...I feel so sorry for you - that is awful! Just how many times do you have to prepare yourself for this operation only for them to cancel it! You poor thing! I really hope they sort you out asap! xxx

It certainly leave me with a bad taste in my mouth about this Canadian Medical system... My surgeon is not to be blame and he knows that I know that, heck he was doing his job, it's not his fault he had some complications in that operation, what was he suppose to do walk away from the table, oh, I can't go in overtime...?
What I despise the most are the rule makers, the administrators, it's all about money, not the patients anymore.

That frickin' sucks, Dero. That just pisses me off... this is why I pay $620 per month out of pocket for private, never-can-be-canceled health insurance that I can't really afford. Man, I HATE the American health care system-- but this is a very interesting window on the Canadian one. Hang in there, keep after them, take your codeine when you need to, don't let it get you down...

Dayum Denis and we were talking about the same old broken record crap in earlier posts, only this time it sure enough isn't you with the same old broken record. I am so sorry you are having an attack on Monday, its sure going to hurt isn't it. And its to bad the attack happens so late in the day they have to keep you in the hospital for fear something else might be wrong so they are going to have to monitor you until a surgery opens up for you. I'm wishing you my support for the attack in advance because I won't be here on Monday as I have to work overtime.........OOOPS in the USA we do have to work overtime, sorry. Anyway you are in my thoughts and prayers until this BS is over with. Sure wish we could just slide you south of the border for a few days, then have the attack, they will do the surgery right then and there.

Oh Denis..how frusrrating for you...I would just be lived...you have to sike your self up for the surgery and then to be put off at the 11th hour really stinks.

I can't believe that they have canceled your procedure again...... How frustrating!!
I hope you are able to have your surgery soon. If they do reschedule maybe you can ask to be first in the AM...although the times might be reserved for certain cases, hypoglycemics, and/or diabetics...it might be worth asking????

Believe it, believe it... I will believe that I have had this operation only after I wake up and I get told that I was operated... With my luck, I can just imagine being put to sleep and the operation NOT be perform because of some administrative reasoning.
Not feeling so **** hot today. If this carries on, I may check myself in the ER...
