"Go paTS!!!!"
11:56am, September 22, 2009

Saturday, (August 1st) I went for my first ride in the hills (we have no real mountains here)and I think I might have over done it, I did 32 klm round trip with many breaks and many climbs I had to abbort, either I was sucking wind or my legs were going to cramp...

I made it back to the car, I still have work to do on my climbing muscles, that night after soaking in  a HOT BATH, my legs were so stiff, just before you cramp, that feeling...

Two days after, I still had lead legs...

So I will keep on riding flatlands and do leg work out (work on those climbing muscles).

I knew I was not going to be like I was back in 2006, but I had to try and find out where I am.

Otherwise, life is great. No issues with gall bladder(eh, it's gone).

Soon I will be seing theTAT unit, I need to close the file on the Drug study, fulll check ...

That's that...

That's great that you have had a go. You can't expect to be at the same level as 2006 but as you say it is a great baseline - your 'marker in the sand'. I'll be looking forward to hearing more on your progress Dero :)

Well I bumped it up to 20 miles Daily, as oppose to every second day. But this is still on flatlands. I have added a stepping machine to my work out (similar to a stairmaster type thing wijjot) We'll see what that does to climbing muscles, plan on trying it AGAIN in a week, the same circuit that beat me two weeks ago.

Time to turn a new page... Mood
Sunday, June 14, 2009 | A Positive story

I have been for my first bike ride, (Saturday, June the 13th/09) since 2006 and it felt great. I know I have a lot of work ahead of me, cardio sucked big time and legs felt like mush, for the riders here, yes my butt hurts today, you all know that pain.

It was just a ride on sandy roads, a ride around the block, eh in the country we have BIG BLOCKS, close to 15 miles. So it was not a century, nor was it a ride on a knarly singletrack, but it was me, in the saddle!!!!! YAY!!!

:)

Yesterday I took the stitches, well the tape off and I went for a mile walk ,felt so goooooooooood to get out of the house, having gorgeous weather helps a lot too. Today, I went for a two mile walk, I plan on hitting the stationary bike on Monday for a couple of days, see how that feels and maybe by next Thursday, I 'll take the bike out on the road, nice and easy... :)

    Sunday June 7th/09
I woke up this morning at 2AM with my right cheek (the one on my face) very visible to myself and that is w/o the help of a mirror, yes it was so swollen I could see it and yes I was also in agony Yes an abscess, great at 2AM on a SUNDAY is there a dental clinic that is opened?
So I iced it and I took a couple of pain killers(heck my pharmacy is quite complete in that department lately) and TRIED to go to sleep, ha hahahaha...
What am I becoming, a magnet to whatever can go wrong to me?
Long story short, had the dental appt, have the pen and more pain killers and I have another appt to get a tooth extracted( I don't believe in root canals, great big scam machine...).
So today, the swelling is almost gone, I don't look like a chipmunk with it's cheek stuffed with nuts and all anymore.
I called my hematologist to once again redo my prevetative anticoag post op treatment. Stop the injections until the day after the tooth extraction.
I devised it all and asked her if that was the right thing to do? "Why do you need me? " was her answer. Yes, I devised it correctly, she then asked me if I had any medical training? I laughted...

    What's next????

Yikes. My advice to you is to lay low until this black cloud passes over you. Speaking of black clouds, I think there I hear tornado warnings going off in the distance outside my window. Weird spring weather.

I was wondering where you had been... In fact you have not told us. How are things with YOU, as for me, things are on the up&up, starting to do some stationary biking and by this Saturday, I'll probably be hitting the dirt roads of the area. The operation went well (so the Dr says) I was snoozing away, figure. LOL
    C'mon tell us about YOU...
