Hi Everyone,
Well we had our first big outing besides going to the doctor. We went to the Toronto National Home show. We left our home at noon and returned at 7:00 pm. My son Matthew came with us and we all had a good time. We took Marlene's wheelchair so she was able to conserve energy. Marlene felt great getting out but was very tired when we got home and went right to bed.
About four months ago I had to ask my sister to look after our two golden retrievers as I found it too difficult on them while Marlene was in and out of hospital. In that time we had to put one of them down because of cancer. But Shadow the younger one returned home this past Sunday. Marlene and I are so glad to have him home. I the long run I believe it will be good for both Marlene and Shadow.
My son Matthew has decided to ride his bike for cancer. The fund raiser has been organized by the Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation. He will be riding over 200 km.(120 miles) in two days. He has a web site where he has told his story about his mother's cancer. Marlene and I were very touched by what he said. If you would like to read his story just check on the link below. If that does not work then just go to www.conquercancer.ca, click on donate, type in Matthew Wheatley and then click on his name. That will take you to his web page and his story.
Marlene goes for her bone marrow biopsy at the end of April beginning of May to see if she will be needing a second transplant.
Some other great news is that we had a church service for Marlene two Sundays ago where over one hundred family and friends came to pray for Marlene. We had music and messages and an annointing for Marlene. It was a beautiful service and very uplifting. It is in God's hands now as it has been all along.
God bless,
Mark
