Am still 56 and growing younger , more enthusiastic and interested in daily life the longer I stay sober and clean. A late starter in the addiction/alcohol game, I thought I would never feel good again. Interests
Cooking, recovering furniture, sewing gifts, painting on wood (i.e. napking rings and other simple things), working daily to help my autistic teen client learn more socially acceptable behaviors and to better communicaate his feelings. Just some of the things I am becoming interested in again.

Hello my friend. I recieved a very beautiful, thoughtful card in the mail some time ago. It's in my pile of "to write's" and it's on the top. In the meantime, sending you love and support and of course hugs from me and Fatty. Remember detox nurses look funny in their white "gowns". Man we gotta start those stories back up.

i did not start drinking until about 10 years ago. when a severly bad time evolved, due to my weakness...i don.t know what more to say>>>>>>>i use alcohol to ease my paih and to help me feel more calm. this sucks..
Treatments
- AA Meetings Not Working
- my need to drink and feel "better" overpowers, the groups make me aware of my short comings and i feel like drinking more
- Ativan Not Working
- enables me to rest and sleep. hallucinatiohs persist, however i am fully aware that these perceptions are not real,.
- Cold Turkey Not Working
- vomiting, severe shakes, dry heaves, hallucinations
- Detox Not Working
- tried, but like everything else...
- Naltrexone Not Working
- extraordinarily expensive;;;;;seeme to help with craving, however think it was more my state of mind . no adverse side effects except a sore ass at site of injection when nurse did not warm the meds.
- Residential Treatment Center Not Working
- like being in Jamaica, but no ocean and no sand. also, no palm trees,.....but there was a nordic man in a rock......"lars"
- Willpower Not Working
- it always seems like i can just take one more. but .........
