Journal

Well so much for the wait! I made it one day into my maternity leave and then my little miracle was born!!  I wrote my last journal entry on Monday, and that day I was determined to get things going.  I took the dog for a long long walk, I had my DH give me a foot rub and massage those pressure point spots that can induce labor, and then we had sex.  Well, somehow that trifecta worked, because after sex my water broke!  I was super confused for a while, because you know how after sex there is some leakage out of the vagina....that's what I thought was going on.  But then it got to the point where there was just way too much and it was very liquidy.  So I called the nurse and she thought it was probably just from sex, but I could come be checked.  As we got all our stuff together it really became obvious because it really started flowing. 

When we got to the hospital they checked me and I was dilated only 1cm but 75% effaced, which I hadn't been at all at my last OB appt.  Plus the monitor showed I was contracting.  So they admitted me, and by then it was after 2 a.m. I started having contractions but by morning was only dilated to a 2.  They started pitocin around 9 a.m. and by 1:00 p.m. I was only a 4 but then I decided to get an epidural.  After 5:00 they weren't happy with how things were progressing and they were going to put an internal monitor in and when they went in to do it they found I was at a 9 and 100% effaced.  So they got everything set up and I started pushing at 5:45.  Towards the end she started having more decelerations in her heart rate so my OB ended up using forceps.  I wasn't happy about that but he did a really great job and there were no marks on her head.  She was born at 7:03 p.m. on Tuesday.  She was so alert and is so beautiful!  It was so amazing, one of the most beautiful moments of my life.  I still can't believe she is mine.  I can't stop staring at her.  She is so a daddy's girl too.  Jeff was wrapped around her little finger the moment they met.  He was such an amazing coach and he is already such an amazing daddy.  It is so cute to watch.  Already our relationship has been brought to a new level.  I couldn't be happier!

We have finally come to agreement on a name.....Lily Mei.  It just fits her.  She is just the sweetest little baby and I think that name best captures her.  I'll try to post some pics but you know how that can be.
