Just checking in . . .
Hello and greetings from Colorado! After my computer recovered from a nasty virus and subsequent semi-crash (eeeek) I am back online and …
I was diagnosed Dec. 2007 with stage IV endometrial cancer that had spread to one ovary and some lymph nodes. Had a complete hysterectomy/debulking surgery, followed by 6 courses of IV and Intraperitoneal chemotherapy January - April 2008. It was tough, but I made it through all 6 courses! Now I'm early into my 2nd year post-diagnosis and so far am feeling great and having perfect checkups/CT scans every 3 months. I have been married for 17 yrs to my wonderful husband, have two long-haired cats, and no kids. Currently employed as a flight attendant so obviously I love to travel :-)

I'm a recreational figure skater and have skated on a nationally competitive masters synchronized skating team (we won the Bronze medal in 2006' the current masters team just won the 2009 US Bronze!) I'm also a private pilot and have been flying since 1992, although I'm not flying right now due to meds I'm taking. Hope to get my FAA medical certificate back this summer. I love the outdoors, the beach (I know, not a lot of beaches in Colorado) music, animals, and hanging out with my family and friends. I enjoy gardening and making little green things grow.

I've been following a few threads here and have realised it was your birthday.. So HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU.. Hope you had a great one. Also picked up that you may be able to come to Florida when I am there and to help Anita too.. wouldn't that be fabulous. It was my local GP that came up with the vit B12 idea.. he was able to tap into the local hospital computer ad noticed that they had tested me and that I was deficient.. also some symptoms were poingint that way too. I'm really hopeful it will make a huge difference to how I've been feeling and that it will spur me on to booking my flight to Florida.. the airport is Fort Mayers, though Ihave discovered there are two Fort Mayers airports so will have to make sure I get the right one.... How have you been? Love and hugs to you.. Inka xxx
Happy Birthday, sorry it's a bit late...............hope you had a good one.
Love, Gill xx
Wait a minute. Just thinking about this. That means I would have to pay my way to Denver. In that case it would not be worth it. Unless your airline flies into Houston. ???????
Wow LueEllen, that would be wonderful. Lindamae and Beth live close to Fr. Meyers. Does your airline go there?
Would be so fantastic to meet up during my visit to Florida.. I will keep you posted with dates and so on. I suppose I should be booking it soon now. Gotta say, I am a bit concerned how my latest escapade might affect things like travel and insurance.. I wasn't insured for cancer during my last trip as the cost would have been prohibitive.. but then I wasn't afraid of anything happening that might cause any big problems.. I will be talking it through with my doctor on Monday.. Still feels so great to be free of the hospital.. makes me appreciate everything doubly.. Great big hug to you Inka xxx
Just diagnosed with stage III ovarian cancer and had surgery 12/7/2007. Chemotherapy with Cisplatin and Taxol (IP and IV) are the next step. I have lots of questions at this stage of the game, so am searching for information and support, and would like to offer the same if I can. 23-year survivor of a previous vaginal cancer caused by DES exposure; that cancer was treated by radiation therapy (external plus an implant).
I was diagnosed with Stage 4 endometrial cancer in December 2007, and had a complete hysterectomy and debulking surgery on Dec. 7, 2007. Just completed a 6-cycle course of chemotherapy which included Taxol (changed later to Abraxane due to a hypersenstitve reaction) and Cisplatin. The Cisplatin was administered through a stomach port (Intraperitoneal) My first follow-up CT scan is May 19 and I will be looking forward to a clean bill of health at that time!
