Well , these last few weeks have been pretty rough, and they don't seem to be getting much better.
First , I went to DS and it usually takes me straight to my profile page but that day it asked me to log in and my password... OMG, I joined DS in Feb. 2007, first thing that hit me was that I had a different e-mail address now than I had when I joined and had never changed it, and my password? Lord, I can't hardly remember yesterday, but in order for me to get my password, I had to have it e-mailed to me and that e-mail no longer existed. WHAT TO DO??? So all I knew to do, was to re-join DS in another name with my new e-mail address, so I could message Doug and get my e-mail changed on LKim profile, well it took forever, but I finally got things straightened back out.
Found out yesterday was a week ago, that my new Dr. would not be able to keep nubain in the clinic, the hospital and Dr. had a meeting and they took it out of the clinics offiliated with our hospital here, I broke down, Nubain and phenergan was my RESCUE SHOT for a migraine. It took me and my first Dr. almost 2 yrs to figure out nubain and phenergan was the combo that would knock my migraine out quick. now it was GONE.. I had to start All over again. I had me a good long cry.
Well I called in on a Monday needing a rescue shot after battling a bad migraine all weekend, and that is when my Dr. told me, so she gave me 3 injections, torodol, phenergan, and riboflax(muscle relaxer) , already had an appt set up for Tuesday to go over my sugar levels , went in for my appt with a migraine still, so she tried a injection of Norflex(muscle relaxer) it eased it off for a few hours, but that was it, after 5 days, it finally decided to leave me alone. I was exhausted to say the least.
She also had to give me meds to try for my migraines since the nubain wasn't available anymore, she and the other Dr. in the clinic are working to get something else similar to nubain in the clinic, but until they do, we had to come up with a plan.
So I am taking Periactal 3 times a day for prevention, Midrin . phenergan and Lorcet at the onset of a migraine, repeat phenergan every 4-6 hours as needed and Lorcet every 6 hours as needed. The Lorcet is keeping it down at a minimal(thank the Lord) but not getting rid of it . So as of today I , it is day 2 of a migraine, and I am so angry and frustrated because I am also battling high sugar and blood pressure from this and it could already be over if I could have had the rescue shot. How long will this one last? I just want to cry. Just please say a prayer for me as I battle this. God Bless You. Lori

I am so sorry to hear all that you are going through. I wish I could give you a huge hug and back it all fade away. You are in my thoughts and prayers daily. Take care.

Sorry about the migraines. Since your Dr. knows what will help, maybe she can get something else that will work real soon. You are always in my prayers. Read Phillipians 4:13 whenever you feel down. It helps me.

Glad you are back,and sorry you are feeling bad.Those nasty headaches are awful. I know how they keep you from being able to function. I hope Dr. can find a med that works for you. I read about a person on DS that has them since age 7.
I have a sister in law who is a Dr. and she says a lot of womens headaches have to do with women being pre menaposal. Have the Dr. checked you for that? Life would be easier for you if you could control the pain.

Oh Lori!! I am so sorry you are hurting as bad as you are. Why did they take the nubain away??? I don't know what I would do if they did that to me.(knock on wood!!) That is the only resuce shot that does work for me. I hope you get feeling better hun!! I sure know how you feel!!
