We've moved recently to a new area and country, and have left all our support for Ts behind (OT, great school and teachers) and are starting afresh. …

thanks RachL, I'll tell her about this site and that there are lots of people affected. Now she's not understanding homework instructions every homework she's done this last week has been wrong because she didn't understand what the teachers meant or didn't explain it properly to her. I feel another talk to the school will be necessary.

Thanks Rachel, I really appreciate your support. I will get back to you on the issue you were asking about for your daughter, as it is a tricky area isn't it.

    • Close Dyspraxia & Apraxia

My eldest child, Ts (age 7) is dyspraxic. We knew something was not right from an early age- she couldn't walk until she was 21/2 years old - but discovered what it was through change, meeting a friend, who happened to be an OT. She was 5 years at the time, and we have been seeing an OT since then on a regular basis - also a paediatric pysio as well, to work on muscle tone.

      Treatments

      Physical Therapy Working / Worked
The physio treatment was very good in building her muscle tone, balance, stability, coordination, body awareness etc. But it needs to be maintained over time.
      Occupational Therapy Working / Worked
We were seeing an OT for an hour every week - that was enough to see considerable improvements in balance, coordination, visual-spatial, fine motor skills etc.
      Fish Oil Working / Worked
She's been on Eqe Q for 2 years now - we have no way of knowing if it is helping or not, but continue anyway.
