Close Colon Cancer
Stage: IIIA (T1-2, N0, M0)Blody stool early Oct 2007, colonoscopy end of Oct, finished chemo/radiation Xmas week 2007. 1/7/07 meeting with surgeon to schedule surgery. Also suffer from life long clinical depression but for some reason it isn't bothering me.
Treatments
- 5-FU Working / Worked
- Screwed up my thinking more than I figured on and even though I have been off it a week, I am still not thinking clearly. Worried about long time effects. No idea if it worked yet.
- Radiotherapy Working / Worked
- The 1st half of treatment I figured I was pretty blessed, being in what appeared to be much better shape than the others I saw regularly in radiation and Oncologist office. Into week 4, I could not longer work and took short term disability leave. Over a week since I finished up and am still weak much of the time. No idea if it worked yet.
- Surgery Working / Worked
- Have appt. tomorrow with surgeon and assume we will schedule surgery and pre-op procedure. Surgeon did say earlier only about a 1% chance I will need a colostomy bag due to location of mass. I have a really bad joke to go along with that if anyone wants to hear it. Only my bewst friend of 40 years could get away with it!
Close Time Management
Need to get back in control of my life and make best use of my temporary time off.
