Okay, to be honest, between myself and my sister and her husband, we couldn't WAIT to get back home! lol Hey, i love my family, but 10 days (minus the 2 i went to the Grand Canyon) with my family in one house is a recipe for justifiable homicide!! lol

The only thing i really have to complain about is my sleeping accomodations. My bed consisted of a queen sized air matress which i had to inflate AND deflate every day cause i slept in the living room. Now...for those that know me and have seen me...i'm not a little guy! lol Needless to say i didn't  sleep very well, but i sucked it up and drove on the good soldier and marine i am :)

Christmas was okay, even tho 60 degrees and sunny is not my idea of christmas, at least i was with my family and the kids had a good time.

My fun trip was to the Grand Canyon. My "brother" since high school, and whom i served both in the Marines and Army with in Iraq lives not farfrom my parents home out there and so myself and his wife and he made a couple days of it. He has a Ford F250 Superduty Deisel Extended Cab 4X4 with a 6 inch lift which was great for the trip because we had to go thru Flagstaff which recently was hit with over 3' of snow ! We went thru some snow that even HIS truck found challenging lol

Anyway, we finally got there and my god was it beautiful! Due to the weather, we were only able to have access to the southern rim, but that was plenty for me. Some great pics were taken and as soon as my buddy gets them arranged i'll attempt to put some up here lol Also drove thru Sedona and stopped ant in Jerome on the way back. Boy i will tell you what, it's one thing seeing our beautiful country, but seeing it after you have served and defended it and been to hell and back just makes it that much more beautiful !!

The next fun day was spent shooting at an open air range. Arizona has no gun laws like the communist state of Illinos does. You can walk into a gun store and be in and out with your gun in 20 minutes AND you can legally carry it in plain sight!! I just may be moving!!

You can probably figure it out from having known me and my time in the military that i'm a gun nut lol And yes, just like i told that tight ass idiot Blondmum, i did take my first wifes' pic to the range after the divorce was over and shot the shit out of it!! lol While her and her other little girlfriends may prefer to sit around crying and eating Haggendaas to cry over the latest man, i prefer to vent in other more fun ways lol

Well, it was myself, my brother, his wife (a probation officer who is also a fellow gun nut lol) and a friends of theirs as well as my sister and her husband (another gun nut) brought out the firepower! Let's see, we had Glocks 17,19 & 20 out there, all 9mm. a Beretta 9mm, a Nighthawk .45, an AR15, a 300 and a 240 rifle..........................and a SHITLOAD of ammo that we personally handloaded the day before!! :))

Our targets were cans of all sort (our own form of recycling lol) and the barrage of gunfire over the next 6 hours was pure music to my ears :)  my personal fav was the Beretta 9mm since i carried it while i was in the Marines and i earned my expert marksman certification with it. Boy, was i making some cans dance! lol And while i did NOT have my stbx pics with me, her image WAS in my head while firing several rounds! lol

I think i personally fired over 200 rounds. Until my buddy broke out his AK47 ! There is NOTHING like the feeling of going FULL AUTO!! And then his wifes' friend asked me if i wanted to try shooting something of his. I turned around and he was holding a .44 Ruger pistol single action made in the old style, as in the western days, where you had to load each round one at a time and pull back the trigger for each shot.

I went and found a bigger soup can and placed it about 50 feet in front. Noone else was firing and so i just had at it. By the way, has anyone ever actually HEARD the blast a 44 makes ? And no, i', not just talking about the hollywood, Dirty Harry movies. It ROCKED !!! I was sending that can 30' into the air and hitting it again each time it landed :)) He only had 15 round for it so both my buddy and eric took a couple shots and were done with it, so i got to enjoy the rest :)

Well, those were the most exciting parts of the trip. Of course it was nice to hang out at nite with my sister and brother in law (whom i also went to high school with) in the garage smoking and joking and watching movies on a laptop lol

Actually the best part of the trip was coming home to my girlfriend and relieving 10 days worth of pressure !! lol But that's a whole OTHER story ! lol
