I just read your book recommendation and wanted to send a hug! How are you doing? Also, do you know the author's name of book? I would really like to get a copy. I am trying to gather all the good books on endo so I can read and research since my dr. doesn't do that! (LOL)

    • Close Endometriosis

It was known since the age of 14 that I had endo...I was diagnosed via a lap when I was 18. I don't like the medications, because I have found that none really work for me. And I am still in pain just about every single day. I am engaged to be married in 2009, so I am hoping I will be able to have children. My sister was not able to because of this monster.

      Treatments

      Aygestin Somewhat Helpful
When I have really heavy bleeding I will take it. I used to take 10 mg a day, but I hated the side effects. So now I just take it when I need to.
      Femara Not Working
I was on it along with the Lupron at the same time and the patch. It didn't help which is what made the choice of having surgery.
      Hysteroscopy Working / Worked
This was done before surgery to make sure I didn't have any fibroids.
      Laser Surgery Not Working
Within weeks of my surgery I was bleeding and in pain again.
      Ortho Evra Working / Worked
This is the only thing that has worked constantly for me. I have been on for 6 years continuously with no week off. The pills just didn't work for me
      Surgery Not Working
      It was the Laparoscopy.
      Lupron Not Working
I absolutely hated this. I had the worst mood swings weight gain memory loss night sweats hot flashes in the world. I was on it 2 times once with the femera and ortho evra. And the 2nd with aygestin and ortho evra. I was still in pain so I didnt see the point of taking it when the side effects were that bad.
      Crying Working / Worked
It is just good to let it all out. I feel sooooo much better, especially because there is not a lot of people that can relate.
      Talking Working / Worked
My mom and my sister both had endo, so I talk to them about it. It makes me feel a little better that they understand, because none of my friends do.
      Prayer Working / Worked
I pray every night for my health and my families health. Also that I will be able to have children. You just feel like if you don't have any one else to talk to God is always there.
      Physical Exercise Working / Worked
I enjoy doing pilates on the days I feel up to it
      Reading Working / Worked
My mom bought a book for me on endo, and ever since then I cannot stop finding things to read and doing research. It is the best way I feel to educate yourself and keep your options open.
Support from Friends & Family Working / Worked
My family, fiance, and friends are amazing. Especially my fiance he has stuck with me through everything and I cannot thank him enough. My parents are a big support for me, then always accept my decisions that I make with my endo situations.
      Keeping Busy Working / Worked
I go to college and I work at a pharmacy, which is busy all the time. So it keeps my mind off of things. And sometimes I have so much to do I forget I am in pain.
      Lupron Not Working
Hated this medication...made me feel crazy, emotional and wasn't really helping with the pain so I stopped. Maybe because I was 18 and my body was being put into menopause, but I hated it and wouldn't recommend.

My mom is gone on active duty but luckily she is stateside. She has been gone for 2 years and still isn't done, but since she is staying they can't send her overseas. She is a nurse and helps the soldiers who come back and are wounded. I am sooo proud of her, and thankful to her. I also thank all military personal, who are serving or have served. Like my dad always tells me if you can read this thank a teacher, if you can read this in english thank a vet!!!
