Interests
I enjoy my grandchildren, I like to sew and do machine embroidery. If anyone knows how to motivate oneself - please let me know. I like to garden and would love to move to a bigger place but unless I win a lottery - that isn't going to happen.

Close Depression
Type: Clinical (Major) DepressionI was diagnosed in 1992 - been on every new med since then. Most days I do OK. Lately been down and no motivation to do anything. I am hoping visiting here will help with it.

- Celexa Somewhat Helpful
- not taking now - this was tried in late 90's for about three months.
- Cymbalta Working / Worked
- I have been taking this for the past couple of years.
- Effexor Not Working
- Took this in mid 90's - made me spacy
- Lexapro Not Working
- Tried this - did not like the side effects I think this was 94-95
- Meditation Not Working
- Tried this - I am not good at group activites
- Paxil Working / Worked
- Took this until the Cymbalta came out and switched to that. 2000-2005
- Positive Thinking Working / Worked
- I try to watch Joyce meyer - she does a show called enjoying everyday life...lol
- Prozac Somewhat Helpful
- 92-94 - useless

- I have done this on aand off since 1982 - back when i just thought i couldn't think straight.
- Support from Friends & Family Too Soon to Tell
- As long as I don't tell anyone I am depressed -or that I have pain from the fibro - they are supportive - I have learned to not complain to anyone -

- take this to sleep at night. otherwise I am up all night.
- Wellbutrin Working / Worked
- Took this wiht everything until this past summer - then decided I wanted to try Cymbalta alone - 92-2007

Close Fibromyalgia
I was diagnosed with Fibromylagia in 1999. I thought the pain in my hands was from recurrent carpal pain syndrome. My doctor said nope you have fibro. It has been under control most of the time because of meds for other problems. Staying inside in the winter has made it worse. If i don't get some exercise then it is the worst.
Treatments
- Adderall Working / Worked
- Adderal seems to work the best for my Fibro - without it my entire body hurts and I can't process thoughts well.
- Cymbalta Working / Worked
- Take this now - works well
- Duragesic Patch Working / Worked
- I have worn these since 1998 and they made a huge difference because of a back injury and surgery in 1996.
- Guaifenesin Working / Worked
- I used to take this and i thought it helped but when I stopped taking it there was any difference.
- Neurontin Working / Worked
- I am supposed to take this every day and I don't because it made me so sleepy. The risk of not taking it is i am more susceptible to migraines without it.
- TENS Working / Worked
- I had a great unit that I got on HSN for your abs and it helped hold my back up - it was great. Right now it is broken, I need to get a new one. A friend with fibro had one implanted in her side with wires to her neck and she is doing great - better than she has felt in years.
