thank you for your hug, it has been so hard recently. she has been acting out and getting very stressed about court- the still do not have a trial date - she said she just wants it over with so she can get on with her life and be a normal kid, I hope it comes soon for her, the entire family is stressed, but I think it will be better for all of us if we can help her put him behind bars. I know it will never end - the pain - but it will get better, but this delay is not helping. thankyou again for caring

I was raped when I was 14/15 years old - I can't quite remember exactly! by someone I knew. I thought I could just forget about it and make the rest of my life good. However, this hasn't worked. I am now trying to get over this as it has been increasingly affecting my life. I have anxiety, insomnia, depression and PTSD. I recently reported it to the Police and unsurprisingly there isn't enough evidence to prosecute! I am learning to heal and becoming a survivor!
Treatments
- Emotions Anonymous (EA) Not Working
- EMDR Not at all helpful when I tried it. The Therapist talked about sex in an aggressive and inappropriate way that actually compounded my distress. Perhaps a different Therapist would have been more useful.
- Psychotherapy Working / Worked
- This has helped. I'm still have some hills to climb but I think I'm getting there!
- Rape Counseling Working / Worked
- Helpful
- Talking Working / Worked
- This always has a positive effect for me.
