Hi Girls.. here is the lowdown from my doctors appointment on Tuesday. When I first went in the took my BP and it was 140/92 so they made me lay down on my left side for a while. After they let me rest they took it again and it was 110/60.. whew. So bascially I've had some high readings but it is not consistently high so as of right now they are not going to change anything. Then they talked to me about my test results.. in my 24 hour urine test i did have a little bit of extra protein. They want to see 150 and my was 210, but they don't start worrying until something like 400. So.. once again they are not changing anything yet. Here is the kicker.. I am still freakin anemic. I have been taking 90mg of iron 2 times a day and nothing, it has NOT CHANGED at all. I just don't know what to do... my doctors have not a clue.
So.. I did break down a little.. I know I am ok, but it is just that fear. Things aren't good, but they aren't bad either so I am just teetering on the edge... that is how I feel anyway. I am just trying to do everything possible to stay healthy and keep the stress level low.
That is it for now... no bedrest so that is good! :)
PS.. they had me switch from Tums to Zantac and it is AWESOME!!!!! No more acid reflux thank god!

Im glad that everything seems to be OK. You probably had white coat syndrome or something with your BP...I know sometimes if Im nervous that it is going to be high..it ends up being high. But they always come back 10 minutes later and it is fine. My last pressure was 112/70. And, like you, I had a small amount of protein in my urine. He didnt say how much though. He is just having me repeat it...FUN!! :) That starts tomorrow. Did you do your glucose test yet??
Well, Im happy that everything is going good....and Im happy that Zantac is working for you...I was just put on Pepcid AC and that is amazing as well!!! And Yay to NO Bedrest!!! Feel Good Mama

Sweetie, I know all this must be overwhelmingly scary but your Dr. is on top of it. If you didn't know, I have a kidney transplant of 12 years. Protein in the urine can cause anemia so that could def be why that is still low. Iron takes a long time to build up in your system too (I think?). The fact that your BP went down with rest is probably a gentle reminder that rest is key. You and your little girl are doing good so just focus on holding your sweet, healthy baby girl! Praying for you all:)

Have you tried another type of iron. Of the two types, ferrous and ferric, I have a friend who can only take the latter because she does not absorb the other well. You might try switching it up or a combination of the two. I know the other option is I.V. ...Sorry, stumbled across your journal and had to chime in.... Best wishes!

I'm sorry you are so on the edge. That must be very stressful. Your OB will take great care of you so just try your best to rest and relax as much as you can. Good luck and it won't be to much longer!!!

I'm sorry you're stressed right now. Your doctor will take good care of you and follow you closely. Before you know it your baby will be here. Good luck.

I was going to say the same thing as jptobe about the two types. I was anemic and needed one type because I could notabsorb the other. It is so stressful but soon you will have a perfect little baby in your arms and all the stress will be worth it.

I haven't been on DS much lately but just wanted to let you know I'm thinking of you! I'm sure this is not easy for you...but you seem to be in good hands, and you are getting really close now! Good luck!

I am glad the acid reflux is better. I have erosive GERD and it is awful! When I was younger I was very anemic and I actually used to eat liver, lots of broccoli and anything else that would increase my iron (not to mention the meds they had me take). They thought I was bleeding internally b/c it was so low. After a few years it balanced out for the most part. My Mom was very anemic when pregnant with my little sister she did end up on bed rest for the last few months but she and my sister were just fine. I hope they find something to help it go up, but will continue to pray for all to be well with the baby either way. I can't believe how close you are now! :-)
