  There will always be difficult topics of conversation, you won't ever want to speak about with your kids. I guess this is when it pays off, to be the kind of parent who is involved in his or her kids life. Minor topics like who really started the fight? Why havent you fininsh your shores? and what do you really think about homosexuals? Will open mayor topics like drugs, sex, sickness and death in the family. If I understood correcly, other people in your family have had the same illness. If so, talk to your kids about it. Then, welcome and answer all questions. This way when the time come to talk about you. They will know what to expect... maybe they will have more questions. But at least they won't be as confused or scared. I will keep you in my prayers.
