I have been TTC since January 2007. When I went off the birth control pill, I didn't get a cycle 6 months later! Then I didn't get another one until induced with Provera 4 months after that! We tried three rounds of clomid - but with each one I O'ed later and later (CD19-CD29)... and my luteal phases ranged from 9-11 days (not long enough). We took a break for three months and met with a RE on April 1, 2008. We tried one cycle of Femara and I made one good follicle - bfn though. Then we tried Femara again, and I made no follicles! :-( Now we are on our third try with double dose of Femara, with an HCG shot and IUI... and it worked!!!!! I am in disbelief!!!!

So happy for you....I sure hope I have the same luck w/ IUI if my RE recommends it tomorrow. Thanks for resonding to my post. I might have some quesions for you:) Again, congrats...best of luck to you and your DH for a healthy pregnancy!

Type: Hormonal DisordersIt's getting frustrating and depressing that I can't seem to O even with medicine correctly. It's also frustrating that no one understands because all my friends are 'normal'. :-(
Treatments
- Artificial Insemination Too Soon to Tell
- Trye IUI with 5mg Femara and HCG shot.
- Basal Thermometer Working / Worked
- It definetely lets me know when ovulation has occured.
- Clomid Not Working
- I tried 50 mg dose on days 3-5 and O'ed on CD19. We did an ultrasound an exam when AF came - and everything looked normal. So we repeated 50 mg, and I didn't ovulate until CD25... so now the third dose has been doubled to 100 mg... and I O'ed on CD29!!!!!!! Luteal phases all too short on clomid... so stopped while waiting to see a specialist.
- Femara Somewhat Helpful
- I created one big follicle on 2.5 mg Femara - but did not succeed. Then tried again with 2.5 mg and no follicles. :-( Then doubled the dose and made one big follicle again.
- Folic Acid Too Soon to Tell
- I take a pre-natal every day.
- hCG (Human Chorionic Gonadotropin) Somewhat Helpful
- It worked the first time I took it, but not sure about the second yet.
- Ovulation Predictor Kit Somewhat Helpful
- Well besides going broke on these... they seem to work!
- Vitex Somewhat Helpful
- I used this when I got my one natural AF. I took it for two weeks and then I O'ed... so I continued for three more months, but discontinued after no O for that long. :-(
Close Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS)
I was recently diagnosed with PCOS after a year and a half of TTC. I am glad to finally have a diagnosis, but sad that it is one that must be lived with and has no cure.

Open Pregnancy After Loss/Infertility
I had been TTC since January 2007. I rarely cycled on my own... and clomid seemed to make me ovulate so late... In April 2008, we went to an RE who put us on Femara. After going up to 5mg of Femara and having an IUI - I'm pregnant. Est. due date is May 7, 2009.
