    • Close Diets & Weight Maintenance

      My job as Mom is number one to me. To be good at that job I have to eat right and exercise most days. I lost most of my baby weight in 9 months only to gain 24 pounds after we moved. I am happy to report that I have lost 18 pounds since the beginning of 2009. Presently I am working to get to 148 by the end of July. Slow but steady is the way to go. i also know I can manage about 2 splurge meals each week and still lose if I keep on track the rest of the time and work out of course.

      Treatments

      Counting Calories Working / Worked
      Very important to my success. I have to journal, even if it is a bad day. My food journal is program on my Palm Treo so it goes with me every where.
      Eating Healthier Foods Working / Worked
      Made and makes me feel accomplished. I like healthy foods but I also like chocolate - to earn my chocolate I have to eat my fruits and veggies.
      Eat Less Working / Worked
      When I overeat I feel miserable and can't sleep. I'd rather go to bed hungry than stuffed and depressed. It is so rewarding to wake up in the morning eager to face the day and happy about the previous day and REALLY crave my oatmeal!
      Physical Exercise Working / Worked
      I run 3X/Wk and I go to the gym 3X/wk and do cardio and wts. Helps me feel good; stress reducer especially with the babysitting service at my gym.
      TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) Working / Worked
      I created a TOPS chapter where stay at home parents can bring their kids - no babysitter needed. While I struggle in the fall with my ability to focus so far this new year I am keeping myself together most days.
      Weight Watchers Somewhat Helpful
      Points are kind of weird - I rather count real numbers like calories and fat and fiber.
    • Open Parenting Toddlers (1-3)

      Mom to a daughter who is almost 19 months old. She is a doll and fun to be with.

      I believe in AP - I think it has made Nora very willing to engage others and still know I am around.
