6 months ago today, I gave birth to my little guy. What I thought was the best day of my life has only gotten better each and every day after.
Aiden had his 6 month appt today, got some of his shots and overall had a nice visit at the Dr.'s office. Basic update... he weighs 17lbs6oz, which is just about at the 50th percentile, maybe a tad above but not much. He is 26.5 inches long, which is also right about the 50th percentile. I guess he is very average, which is a good thing in this case. He still hasn't doubled his birth weight but is REALLY close!! Maybe this week or next!
My little boy is growing up so quickly. He is able to sit up unassisted. I still like to be close to him just in case. He is talking a lot more and laughing... cracking up actually, all the time! I love it... makes me laugh! He is rolling over all the time and scoots backward when motivated, which honestly, isn't a lot. He is happy and content in one spot...as long as I am near. We are on a great schedule, which hasn't changed too much in last few months. He goes to Day Care, comes home, naps for a bit (30 mins or so), we play, eat (bottle), I pump, play, eat (solids), take a bath because he is a mess, play some more and then takes another bottle and usually falls asleep in my arms. It works for us!
I met my goal of giving him breast milk for 6 months. My supply has gone up and down. I haven't had to break into my stash at all. Well, I rotate it, so I don't have all old milk in the freezer. Right now I have a bit from Aug and Sept (about 3 weeks worth). Aiden gets mostly fresh milk, about every two - three days I pull some older stuff out and then freeze more of the new stuff. It works for us. I tried the cookie recipe from the breast feeding support group and not only were the cookies yummy but it did help my supply. I am about to make them again. I plan on revising my goal to 9 months. I am 100% positive I will not go beyond 1 year though. Exclussively pumping is hard! With my next little one, I really hope breastfeeding goes better.
Work is going well but so busy for me. I took a new job within the same office and it is so hard to catch up. My grandpa is really sick and I don't think he will be with us much longer. I plan on flying home (Ohio) soon. Last weekend Aiden and I flew to SanDiego for my neices baptism, which was really nice and we are flying there again for Halloween. I love spending time my brother and his family and I really want Aiden and Carla (my brother's baby, 9 months) to grow up together. I am seeing him over Halloween, they are coming here for Thanksgiving, we are going there for Carla's birthday and then they are coming here for Christmas. Then I know they will be here for Aiden's birthday... Weird to think about!
Life is good. I am tired. Off to pump one more time before going to bed. Got to get up early. The cleaning lady will be here tomorrow bright and early!!
I am still reading most journals but have responded to very few. Now that Aiden is more mobile, it is hard! I love you all tons and miss you much. I am always right here for you.

That pretty much sums it up, doesn't it - "life is good. I am tired." :)
I agree that it's getting harder and harder to find time to do things now that Jonah's more active - mostly because he's just so much fun and I don't want to take the time away from him! So glad you and Aiden are doing so well, and great job on your breastfeeding goal! That's a major accomplishment, especially since your pumping!!!
