Things are still going well. Aiden is 5.5 months old (25 weeks). Still providing him breastmilk although my supply has taken a huge dip and I am not sure why. In the last 3 days I have dropped almost 5 oz per day. I am still making just a bit more than he takes but if I keep losing at this rate, by tomorrow or Tuesday I will be making less than that. I am doing all I can do help it get back up there, fenugreek, blessed thistle, caffeine (just a little), oatmeal, anything I can think of... if you have any other suggestions, let me know. I will make my six month goal because even if I never produced another drop of milk, I have enough frozen to get him to six months. I just want to get to a year. I guess all I can do is the best I can and wait and see. If I don't see an increase, I will try renting a hospital grade pump as my last resort.
Aiden is doing well. He is sitting up unassisted. He tries to get up but just ends up with his head and feet off the ground. I must say he has abs of steel... LOL. I moved him to his own bedroom this past week and he is doing great! I am too, although I am just a bit sad. Seems that he is just growing up so fast. He is still sleeping through the night and has been since 8 weeks. I am very lucky in that sense. He is eating solids now, at least most days. He eats them once a day usually.... somedays he doesn't get any. So far he has had rice cereal (he had that for two weeks) and then he has passed the carrots test (not allergic to them) and is now testing peas. Man does he love peas. With the carrots it took two days to get through one container with the peas he almost ate the whole thing in one sitting.
I just got some information from his daycare, picture day is this week.... didn't think I would be worrying about that for a few years but I guess they start in the infant program. All is good. He can have them taken but I don't have to buy them unless I want to. I guess I will wait and see what they look like.
We were suppose to go to FL for Christmas but now it looks like my dad may come here. As much as I would love to go, it would be a lot easier if he came here. My brother and his family then could just drive here from SanDiego instead of flying there as well. I hope it works out that way. I guess we will have to wait and see.
Aiden is also working really hard on crawling. I think he forgets that he can't yet. He basically scooted himself out of my lap yesterday (we were sitting on the floor) and he promptly fell over... he looked at me like, "What the hell..." and then cried. He does get up on his hands and feet at times and does scoot backwards. He is so adorable. He still only rolls over back to front... for me. Day Care says he spends more time there rolling over front to back but I have only seen him do that once or twice.
On Friday we are headed to SanDiego for my neices baptism. I bought the cutest outfit for him and will post a picture as soon as my computer is fixed. I am writing this on my work computer and won't have access to it once I take it back to work tomorrow. I will probably get introuble for bringing it home this weekend but oh well. My computer should be fixed by the end of the week I hope. That is why I haven't been posting too much on people's journals. Please know that I am reading all of them and praying and hoping for the best for all. Sometimes it is hard to read them. I still have a lot of issues with my losses even though I am truly blessed and reading about that is so difficult for me. I don't know...
I love my little man more than anything in the world. I am so blessed. He is the best little guy one could ask for. He only cries when hungry and tired. He doesn't nap a lot but that is ok, I just figure I get to spend more time with him. Ok, he doesn't nap at Daycare (45 minutes worth of naps in 9 hours... he naps a little for me, about 2-3 hours a day on the weekend. I do take one nap with him and that nap is about 90 minutes.
Being a mom is the best thing I have ever done. It is hard at times but I wouldn't trade this life for anything in the world. Love to all! You are the best and I know I wouldn't be here if it weren't for your love and support!

Hey the supply thing is so hard! Suzyhopes posted a great recipe in the breastfeeding group for lactation bars -- they are full of things to help with milk supply and keeping your blood sugar up (brewer's years, flax, wheat germ, oatmeal) but also have chocolate chips in them and my partner says they taste just like tollhouse cookie pie! She is also using Mother's Milk tea and it seems to help!

So glad to hear you're both doing well! It sounds like you're doing everything you can to keep your milk supply up - the only other things I can think of are drink lots and lots of water and maybe pump an extra time or two to stimulate your production.

as you said you do all you can do with the breast milk! and yes lots of water help me. it seems like after Lily started eating she took less milk, and so it's harder work to pump...ho is he so cute by the pictures i keep looking at. and boy they grow fast! every day something else, they grow while they sleep, they sleep alot, so we see lot's of changes every day!
YES you are very blassed! i's hard but so wonderful same time. kisses and a big hug for you two ;)

I hope the breastfeeding gets better for you. Don't have too many ideas here. It's been way too long for me anyway, lol! Glad to see Aiden is doing well & growing! He's such a doll. You're a wonderful mom. Enjoy all the time you can with him.

I'm so glad everything is going well! I can't believe our little guys are 6 months this week! Where has the time gone. I know I'm enjoying every minute with Collin. He's been on oatmeal for a bit and really likes it, we're going to try peas this week, I hope he likes them as much as Aiden!

So sorry I have not got to chat with you more especially since our little ones were born on the same day and all we have been through!! Daniel still does not sit up but I think that is purely because he thinks his feet belong in his mouth 90% of the day :) I am glad to finally catch up on a journal, sending big hugs your way!!!
