I am 53 years old and live in the beautiful state of Washington with my husband and 4 cats. 3 adopted us and 1 we rescued. I love to do anything that can be done outside, but physical limitations prevent me from doing most. I have 1 son and 1 daughter, 3 grandkids and 2 step grandkids.

Close Obesity
Hi all, I have always been overweight, until I had Nissin surgery and lost almost 50 pounds. Since I lost that weight, it has been a roller coaster with my weight. I had a hysterectomy in 2003 that really messed up my metabolism and I now weigh the most I had ever weighed. I also have 3 different forms of arthritis, which one is osteoarthritis in my feet. I love walking, but it is so painful. I live in the middle of no where, so a pool isn't a option. I hope I can find some help here.

- I work retail where there is all of the foods that I shouldn't eat available.

- Had to quit because of the cost. It worked very well!!
- Meridia Not Working
- Didn't change a thing.
- Weight Watchers Not Working
- I don't like the Ra-ra sessions that they have. I am more of a private person.
Open Arthritis
I have been diagnosed with Reiters, Osteo, and AS. I am hurting all the time, but have learned that you don't just sit around and cry, you have to keep moving even though it hurts. I have tried almost everything to help it, but have only seen minor results, which I am thankful for. Now they want me to try Remicade. It just sounds like a drug that would really bring my immunity down and I am scared to try it. Hopefull, I can find some help here.

- Can't take it anymore since they have me on Celebrex
- Naproxen Somewhat Helpful
- Only for a short time, and then it stopped working.

- Only for a short time, and then it stopped working
- Swimming Working / Worked
- No place to swim where I live.
- Tylenol Somewhat Helpful
- Takes the edge off sometimes.
Open Parenting Teenagers (12-18)
I have a 18 year old step daughter who doesn't respect anything, including herself. My husband has given her every opportunity to excel, but she just wants pity on herself. She lived with her alcoholic mother for the first 14 years of her life. She came to live with us when she was 14 and the problems started.
Treatments
- Education (School) Not Working
- All she does at school is socialize with her friends
- Patience Somewhat Helpful
- We know that she had a hard life with her mom, and tried to have patience to get her trained to the proper way of life. She played everything up at first, but then hell broke loose and it hasn't stopped.
- Psychotherapy Not Working
- All she did was tell the counselor lies to get him to feel sorry for her. He actually gave up and said there was nothing else he could do for her and we had tried all the options that he had suggested.
Open Chronic Pain
I have had chronic pain for the last 3 years and it just keeps getting worse. Most of it is due to 3 different arthritis conditions and I also have permenent disability in my arms.
Treatments
- Cymbalta Working / Worked
- Seems to help me sleep.
- Heat Working / Worked
- But only when I have it on. When I take it off, the pain comes back.
- Lidoderm Working / Worked
- Works very well, but there are so many different places that I hurt, and I can only use 3 a day.
- Lyrica Not Working
- Only put weight on me and I felt no help with the pain.
- Marijuana Considering
- My husband used to medically for 3 years for Menieres syndrome and it really helped him.
- Neurontin Not Working
- Didn't seem to help at all and made me very tired
- Oxycodone Working / Worked
- Helps me sleep at night.
- Physical Therapy Working / Worked
- But ins only allows a certain number of visits per year
- TENS Working / Worked
- Sometimes I wear it all day. But again, I hurt so many places that I have to pick and choose which area to help that day.
