Just got the protocol in the mail Mood
Wednesday, July 30, 2008 | A Breaking News story

And the phone call from Insurance Coordinator for the co-payment due, what a way to come back from our mini-vaca, jeepers no easing into things!

Because we have been “suppressed” for months now this cycle will move crazy fast! Start Lupron on 8/16, baseline on 8/18 and theoretically stims start 8/19 which puts ER & ET potentially the first week of September.

Ok so here’s a little dilemma and I know we put so much time into the waiting part that this seems almost petty but…my girlfriend and I planned on a girls getaway weekend to the Cape Aug 22-24, months ago. Cycle potentially messes with said plan, my husband gives me the shots, although he assures me that I could give myself the lupron but once the stims start it’s three shots a day of three different meds, add to the actual giving and receiving of shots the porting them and keeping them and I’m screwed. So I’ve been contemplating this; asked if I could push the start of stims and /or baseline until that Monday.

So they are putting me on Repronex as well as the Gonal this time. Too make sure I’m compensating for the months on Lupron, it’ll be interesting to see what happens with this cycle, so different then last two. Am slightly concerned about the additional stims, only because I was “riding high” and little closer to the over stimulation then I was comfortable with so hopefully they catch it and dial back in time.

I think one of the more frustrating aspects of IVF is the timing and how much it interferes with life in general. I have rescheduled so much of work and vacation and family time to keep on the meds that I don't feel like we've had any this year. I think it's a personal choice. If the timing is right for the cycle then I wouldn't push it out personally and I'd reschedule the weekend. BUT if there's not anything special about the start date then push it out and enjoy the Cape!

I hope you get your girls weekend figured out, I know it's frustrating to have plan everything around an IVF cycle. Good luck with your upcoming cycle!

Glad your got your protocol and are ready to start! Do you think one of your girlfriends could do the shots if it came to that? That would be one way to keep the weekend going... Either way good luck with this cycle.. I hope it is your time!
