Im 53 years old, divorced with 2 grown children. I was diagnosed with graves disease in early Nov of 2007. My symptoms began 2 weeks before diagnosis. My eyes have been the biggest challenge. I am presently in remission with my Graves and TED. I still suffer from some muscle aches but other that I feel great. My good days far out weight my bad days.

Hey Kathy - we all know there is a psychological and therefore emotional component to Graves' disease...it seems to affect some more than others.
I am glad you are able to identify this and pray you can maintain distance
when others are being overly emotional. This place should be safe for
everyone dealing with Graves' disease....I can't explain why others go into attack mode and it's unfair for anyone to be victimized by this. You are the shining light here and no one should try to snuff it out. I'm sending you the biggest hugs and words of support. Carol
Hey Kathy.....Geeezz.....you sure made me blush. Thanks for your kind words. Forum peeps helped me so much during my Graves' journey - I feel it's time to give back. Thank you for making this place all that it is. ((hugs)) Carol

Starting over at the age of 53 and afraid my life will be loveless for the rest of my life. Have since realized life is what you make it. I have a lot to offer especially to myself!
I am now divorced for the second time to the same man. I did my best to make it work but could not do it alone. I have walked away knowing I did all I could do. I bought a wonderful little house by the ocean where I live with my 2 dogs and cat. Life is good. I hope some day I will meet someone who will appreciate who I am and love me for it.
