Hi Janet ~ Good grief, you're back to work already?? This sure seems a little early to me, but I'm not the doc. I'd have thought he'd have kept you off a little longer. Oh well. No doubt you're exhausted!! Gosh, I wish the sciatica would ease up on you!!! Darn it, it's so horribly painful! Can't they give you anything stronger to help temporarily with the pain? Since vicodin didn't help, they oughta try something else just to get you by until it starts to ease up!! This is torture, and I can attest to that. Why not give you some Methadone or something? It couldn't hurt. Seems like they'd be williing to help you out a little bit. I don't know how you work all day with that. I did for awhile, but I just couldn't stand it after a short time. I just had to give up. I was on my feet all day. I just found out my right hip is ready to break at any time. lol Oh brother, that's all I need, cause I'm not sure I can have an artificial one. I have osteoporosis so bad that I don't know what they'd attach it to. There's always something, isn't there. Anyway, please take care of yourself, and if the pain gets too bad, MAKE them give you something, ok? Love, Lee
Hi Janet ~ Oh gosh, I know exactly how you feel, having the sciatica come back. I was in TEARS when mine was still there after my 2nd surgery. I was SOOOOO hoping it would be gone, but nope. I think that's the worst part of this chronic pain ~ the sciatica. I could much better handle the pain if it wasn't for the hip and leg pain. That is just SOOO debilitating! And it makes it so darned hard to sleep, too. At least it does for me. What meds does your doc have you on??? Don't they help you much at all? I would hope that your surgical pain would be subsiding pretty darned soon now. If it doesn't pretty soon, make sure you get yourself back to your surgeon. When do you see him again? I'm sure you have a post-surgery checkup, right? I hope so anyway!!! Maybe he can help you with some meds at that time. Make sure you aren't doing too much sweetie. Can't have you hurting yourself! Hugs, Lee
Hey Janet ~ How are you doing today? I'm sorry I've not been in touch sooner. Are you feeling any better? Has the pain started to subside? I sure hope so! Ya know, you CAN lay on your back - you don't have to keep laying on your sides. In fact, on my back was the only way I could lay when I had my surgeries. My hips were too sore to lay on them! When you feel up to it, let me know how you are - I've been thinking of you and you're in my prayers. Hugs, Lee
How are you feeling? I'm sure you're mighty sore, right? Did your surgeon keep you overnight? I hope so. I'm like you ~ I can't sit still for long. I have to get up and do something. It drives my daughter nuts cause I'm always getting up and down & up and down. LOL I hope the surgery went well. I wish you had someone there with you so you didn't have to do everything yourself, like get meals, etc. When you feel up to it, let me know how you are. In the meantime, I'm sending lots of prayers your way!!! PLEASE take good care of yourself! Hugs, Lee
Hi Stardust ~ I'd be honored to be your friend! Thank you for asking! I'm sure you're getting a little nervous about your upcoming surgery, but you'll be just fine. It's so simple the way they do it now, as opposed to the way I had to have it done. You'll be in and out in no time. Heck, I had to stay in the hospital for a week! LOL. You should be back home the same day, you lucky girl! Just make sure you follow all instructions ~ REST ~ no lifting, twisting, turning, etc. And hopefully you'll have someone there with you to help you out! PLEASE keep me posted on how you're doing, when you feel up to it, ok? God bless. Hugs, Lee
I was recently diagnosed at the age of 22 and dr is trying me on different meds. My major problem in this area is lack of concentration, however I have many other symptoms. I am also bothered by the fact that I was not diagnosed earlier when all the same symptoms were there.
I have been in therapy for 8+ years and taking different meds for the majority of that time. I was doing okay for a while, but now having issues again after ending a 3.5 year relationship. I was also recently diagnosed with ADHD
Taking classes at the local community college. Currently in my 4th year for a 2 year degree (I only go part time). Will eventually have an associates in liberal arts and a certificate in medical assisting. If I can get the ADHD under control anyway!
Just found out I probably have asthma induced by allergies after ignoring the symptoms for 15 years. Maybe now I will stop being sick all the time!
Allergies just bad enough to make me sick all the time - vermont is the bane of my existance
I have two disc herniations, one at L4-L5, and one at L5-S1. The lower one is fragmented, and the fragments are irritating my sciatic nerve causing sciatica
