Hi, just to send you a hug, and tell you time is really a healer. I'm also mom of one 5 year old precious girl and I lost my beloved baby boy on 38th week pregnancy (about 1.5 year ago), so I can really know how you feel. Nowadays I feel much better. I think I will never be completely recovered and every day I miss my Michel Alexander terribly, but time has been also a healer and every day I find a new way to appreciate the life just like is. Always follow your light within and you will find your way, maybe not to happines, but to peace. Rosario

    • Close Depression Supporters

My husband is severely depressed. Sometimes suicidal. I too suffer from occasional depression and anxiety, triggered freq. by dh's depression.

      Treatments

      Crying Somewhat Helpful
Well you just have to let it out sometimes, don't you?
      Music Somewhat Helpful
Music is a huge part of both of our lives.
      Patience Not Working
      I have none! :P
      Talking Working / Worked
We're in couples therapy and it helps a lot to cope and improve our relationship. Doesn't do much for *the* depression but helps us function better day to day.
      Pamelor Working / Worked
It worked when I was on it. Loss of insurance for a month threw me off while hubby was on SDI too depressed to work. Dosage 75mg. No side effects noticed.
Support from Friends & Family Working / Worked
My friends have been great. They listen and support me. But I need more support and dont want to overburden them hence being here.
    • Close Parenting Preschoolers (3-5)

My little guy is 4 :) I also run a home daycare with two 1 year olds, two 2 year olds, and two 4 year olds (including my son)

      Treatments

      Attachment Parenting Working / Worked
attachment parenting allowed me to be very close to and respond to my child's needs. I find I was much more 'strict' about AP'ing when he was a baby, but it does have its place now too.
      Child Time-out Somewhat Helpful
Time out can help, but is not a major deterant for negative behavior.
      Positive Reinforcement Working / Worked
      A great tool!
    • Open Depression

Both my husband and I suffer from depression (his very severe, suicidal at times), I've had Cyclothymia as long as I can remember, and now the down/depressed side surfaces more and more...

      Treatments

      Positive Thinking Working / Worked
It does work, and helps me get through, but isn't a 'cure'.
      Psychotherapy Working / Worked
Biweekly appointments for self, weekly appointments with husband for couples. Very beneficial.
Support from Friends & Family Working / Worked
My friends have been very there for me, but I hate to dump on them.
      Trazodone Working / Worked
Took for a sleep aid more than depression, but helpful (no longer taking)
      Pamelor Working / Worked
75mg dosages works very well but have been off script for about 2 months now due to loss of insurance getting refill today
    • Open Codependency

When I was 12 my father had a serious injury and from then on I took care of him. I've continued this cycle with my husband of 6 years. I'm very caring, loving, have lots of empathy and I've been working on not closing down those parts of myself, but also not taking on too much responsibility for others as well. Its a tricky road.

    • Open Stillbirth

My little girl, Fiona Star was stillborn December 6th 2008 at 38 weeks gestation.

    • Open Self-Injury

When I was a teen I cut to relieve emotional pain. Now I'm 30, and I cut because my daughter was stillborn Dec 6th 2008.

      Treatments

      Talking Not Working
Talking doesn't make the pain go away. Talking doesn't relieve the numbness. I *need* to talk about Fiona, but it fulfills other needs, not the need to cut.
      Tattoos Working / Worked
I have about 25 hours of work done. I'm desperate to start my memorial tattoo for Fiona.
    • Open Pregnancy After Loss/Infertility

Our daughter Fiona was stillborn 12/6/08 at 37 weeks along. I'm newly pregnant (due on my birthday 2/27/10) and this is a hard road to travel!
