I visited my Dermatologist last week who told me that basically there was nothing further he could do for my Ezcima. …
Hi Randy, Mom is supposedly the source of my bad genetics as well :-) I started having severe outbreaks when I was 9, and although the light treatment I got way back when might not have been UV, I do remember having to go in 2-3 x/week and getting cooked under blue lights. First the doc started me out on tranquilizers! Ultimately, after pills, cremes, lights, "chlorine" therapy, etc., all failed, he said I needed to stay on the tranqs, and told my mom that the eczema was an outward manifestation of my pent-up frustrations, and that she needed to find out what was bothering me. This led to her determining, after months of interrogations, that I was deliberately withholding information, i.e, lying to her. Things went downhill from there :-) But we've all survived. And I didn't go to another dermatologist for about 25 years. Figured they were all quacks, you know? For what it's worth, I do go through periods where I'm totally healed. They are infrequent, sadly, but here's hoping you have better luck! Take good care, Karen
My Merman Warrior! Sorry, have not been able to be online for a bit, so missed your 'scaly' post and Valentine's wishes (and call for a hug!). I had the UV light treatment about 40 years ago, so I'm sure that lots has changed, but do let me know how it works for you. I, too, have been told Clobetosol is the strongest available. Just where do we go from here, hey? And if you ever want to add humidity to the mix, c'mon down to South Florida...humidity capital of the world! (Plus our water is always warm...something that I've not found in California). On a sadder note though, the humidity has not been helping. Although that may not be true. If I were still up north, could be that my current outbreak would be much, much worse. I'm awfully sick of my ears and scalp itching, though! Have you ever found your outbreaks to be tied to seasons? October and April are usually bad times for mine. Take good care!
Your welcome, hope your eczema is better.
Heres you a hug, I noticed people on this board are not as friendly as the others...
HI THANK YOU FOR THE VALENTINES WISHES. HOPE YOU HAD A NICE ONE.
My Excema condition first developed when I was about 30 where I would get a couple small minor areas that would vanish with some basic prescription creme. Now however In the last couple years it seems to be spreading all over my body. At this point the cremes seem to keep the itching down, but the rash does not seem to vanish. I find myself continually putting creme on with little results. I hope to find some better remedies here. :)
