I do believe my horses knew long before I did something was wrong with me, they began treating me with kid gloves long before any knowlege of cancer. God does grace them with simple gifts..
Horses,and many other animals have such strong intuition. Rascal,my beloved pooch always comforts me when I'm blue. Ever see the "Horse Whisperer"? One of my all time favorite,heart warming movies. Horses have gentle souls.
Truly, most are old souls, just waiting for the right time to expose their true age. This horse I am on was right off the track from racing, in New York, she had not been winning and I think her fate was to go on to Canada for slaughter. We shipped her here, and she has been a lovely youngster, with a heart of gold and as I said an old soul just waiting to be discovered. The "Horse Whisperer" was okay, I rather enjoyed viewing Robert in his jeans and that jawline, but something to it I suppose.
Further, she was race horse fit as they say when she arrived, but for that is way too thin. She also came to me with a horrible vice, called windsucking (cribbing), much like smoking in humans. For many cribbers they would prefer to fill up on air sucking in whilst gnashing on wood then eating. Unfortunately she found comfort in this while racing, am sure fretting drove her to this. She is now grazing like a regular horse, eating fairly well, having a normal heat cycle with no tampering, and falling in love with my gelding.
Looks like you're living life to the fullest! Keep your chin up...miracles do happen:)
