Got married February 17, 2007 to a great man. I am expecting our first child in September 2009. He has been very supportive of me and my terrible health and all my problems. I'm here just looking to meet people who are dealing with the same health problems I am dealing with and learning ways to cope with/treat them in order to have a fulfilling life!!

thanks for answering! When you were on it the first time did your doc take you off it or anything because of the weightloss? i really like the medication... it helps a lot, but i am worried they will take me off of it!!

- Prednisone Somewhat Helpful
- Works, but the long term side effects if you use for a consistant amount of time are horrible. Be careful.

- Currently using. Seems to be doing a great job.
Open Migraine Headaches
Just the next in line to get them in my family. We have a big family history of migraines. You're just destined to get them in your 20s or 30s in my family tree.

Open Fibromyalgia
Just diagnosed 12/3/07. I've been suffering from Fibro for over a year now and had no idea. I am hopeful that things are on the way up for me.

- Has been working to help with the fibro fog and concentration problems.

- A good warm bath seems to help with the pain and fatigue.
- Cyclobenzaprine Working / Worked
- I only took this for a short time, but it really helped with the muscle pain when I took it.

- Always helpful with the muscle pain.
- Lyrica Working / Worked
- Definitely a life saver for the nerve pain. Helped with my restless leg syndrome as well.
- Massage Somewhat Helpful
- As long as I am not too tender at the time, it's helpful and relaxing.
- Neurontin Working / Worked
- Taking this as opposed to the Lyrica (it's signifcantly cheaper) and getting the same results. Really helps with the nerve pain and seems to assist with the muscle aches as well. A nice side effect is that I take a higher dose at night and it helps me sleep. Has helped with the restless leg problems as well.

Open Bipolar Disorder
I was recently diagnosed after being misdiagnosed as depressed with ADD some 3 years ago!! Now, that I am on the general path of correct treatment, things are really changing in my life and the "old me" is getting back into form.

- Geodon Working / Worked
- This has been working great for me. At first, it made me sleepy, but that wore off in just a couple of days and now it's no problem. Works wonders. It's quite expensive, but I find very worth the cost.
- Lamictal Not Working
- Did not work as far as stabilizing my moods.
- Topamax Somewhat Helpful
- I have already been on this for a bit for migraine prevention so I'm not particularly sure how to judge how it helps the bipolar. Doesn't seem to be creating any problems though.
- Wellbutrin Not Working
- At first, I thought this was working. Made me sleepy and lethargic and never pulled me out of the funk. Had all the side effects, none of the benefits.
- Zoloft Working / Worked
- Since I am pregnant and the depression seems to be the worst part of my bipolar, I am currently taking Zoloft since it is about all there is that is safe to take. Doing great with it.
Open Environmental Allergies
Type of allergy: DustI have lived with allergies all my life. My triggers are dust, pollen and mold. When I was diagnosed as a kid, doctors told my parents I was allergic to cats and dogs, but I currently own cats and dogs and have absolutely NO problems with them (two of the cats are even long-haired).

- Worked, but made me a bit sleepy.
- Allergy Shots Not Working
- I got these as a child and they didn't work worth a crap and only served to give me a paralyzing phobia of needles that I still struggle with today as a 30 year old.
- Cyproheptadine Working / Worked
- Recently started this for migraines, but it seems to be helping the allergies as well.
- Flonase Somewhat Helpful
- Nasal Irrigation Working / Worked
- Surprisingly, this seems to work well.
- Patanol Working / Worked
- This worked well for allergy eyes.
- Sudafed Somewhat Helpful
- Works to decongest me, but doesn't actually stop the sneezing, etc
- Zyrtec Not Working
- I took the prescription form of this and all it did was make me extremely sleepy so it was worthless to me for daytime allergies.
Open Restless Legs Syndrome
I was just recently diagnosed with RLS (I mean as recent as 12/28/07). I realize now that I have had it for some time. The sensations are just as the ads describe (vague, I know) and I only starting having severe "attacks" to the point I couldn't sleep just before I was diagnosed. My Dad has it too. His is MUCH worse than mine. He's on Requip whereas Neurontin (which I take for Fibromyalgia as well) seems to help with mine. Not a fun condition, but I have it pretty well controlled for now.

- Was on this for approx 3 1/2 years. Didn't seem to do much for the restless legs problem.
- Neurontin Working / Worked
- Seems to be helping, but I'll have to see how it does in the long run. UPDATE: Definitely a life-saver. Is making a huge difference and helping with the RLS. I think it's working better for me than Requip is for my Dad.
