G turned off our credit cards. He says he did so because someone at the airport walked by him with one of those scanner things.
My question is, how could they have gotten his credit card information with a scanner if it is in his pocket in his wallet along with his bank card, pilot's licence, driver's licence, etc. How could they scan it if it is in his wallet? Am I just naive? Are there scanners out there capable of such a thing? Even if he had his card in his hand, how could they scan it? I don't know, but that is what he said.
So anyway, I tried to use the credit card at Wendy's after church today because, I had no cash. It was denied. I was embarrassed, and at that point didn't know that G had turned the cards off. So anyway, the manager at Wendy's gave us our lunch for free. That was so nice of her.
Yesterday was interesting. We met my parents for lunch at McDonald's. Then we went to Meijers to get the boys' Halloween costumes. Clay wanted to be Spiderman and we found his costume right away. Cole wanted to be Iron Man, we looked and looked, and only found the Iron Man costume from old comic books. He wanted the Iron Man costume from the new movie. So, we decided to buy the one that wasn't the right color because Cole was still ok with that one, but we were going to be looking in other places to find the right one. So with the costumes decided on, and mostly found, my Dad took the boys home with him, and my (step)Mom and I continued to do our grocery shopping. At the end, my Mom insisted on paying for my groceries. How lucky am I? So we went to Target to see if they had the right Iron Man costume, well they had 1 but it was too small. We had the man check to see if there were any at any of the other stores, there were a couple, but not the right size. They had tons of everything else on the shelves, but just one, of the one we wanted. So we went to the Great Parties, store, and found the right color one, but it didn't have the muscles like the other one we saw, but we bought it just in case we couldn't find the one with muscles. So then we went to Toys R Us but they didn't have any. So we went and put my groceries away at my house then we went to Kmart and were about to give up, when I happen to see one laying on the floor half under the other costumes. It didn't have a mask, but it was the right size. So we kept looking, I found another that had been shoved under the other costumes, and it too had no mask, but I looked under more costumes and I found a mask, but it was bent out of shape. So, we bought the costume, bought some pizza for dinner, and then went to my parents house and at dinner. My Mom and I went back to the Great Party's store and returned that costume, but they wouldn't just give my Mom her money back because she had written a check, but they would do merchandise trade. So my Mom and I looked around for some stuff that we might like or need that would add up to the amount of the costume. Luckily we found some Spiderman gloves for Clay's costume, and a few other decorations for my Mom. Then we went and returned the costume that was the wrong color to Meijers and bought the better Iron Man mask that came with a shooter thing, we had to get it that day because it was on sale, and the sale was only good through yesterday. So we finally got done, and had all the costume parts we needed, and were back home at my parents house at 8pm!!! But we had accomplished our mission, we had found Cole the costume he wanted, and brought back other costumes so that other children would have them to choose from.
Who knew that Iron Man would be the costume of the year? lol

Becky, Your husband has to be out of his mind. You are one of the sweetest, most caring and genuine women I have ever met. For him to be as he is with you, shows that he is not very smart. He knows that he cannot pull this all forever, without you fighting back. I cannot believe he would cancel your credit cards without telling you. He was setting you up for a bad situation, just like the one you had. Do you know why the Wendy"s manager gave you your lunch for free? Because, what goes around comes around. God see the things we do for others, and you are so kid and caring, so your kindness, this time, was payed forward. How wonderful! I am sure it must have been embarrassing, but God saw you through it. It is nice to know that our kindness is sometimes repaid. You have nothing to feel badly about, though, as it was he who cancelled the accounts and didn't even tell you. After all you have been through with him, I would think that this would be the last straw. But you always are willing to give him another chance. You are an angel, a saint, to

I am glad to hear that the battle of the halloween costumes has been won! It is always so hard to get just what they want! Again, a good mom's hard work pays off... she has two adorable, very happy little boys! It also touched me to hear that your stepmom paid for your groceries. This, to me, is another example of you receiving all of the love and the care that you always give!
Well, Becky, it is time for me to go and decide what's for dinner... I mad a really yummy pork chop dish the other night! Boy was it yum!!
I am still praying that all of this will turn out the way you want and need it to. Sounds like you have a lot of family support, so that can only help. Please be kind to yourself. Oh, my goodness, I'm exhausted just reading about your costume adventures. I'm so glad my kids are grown and I don't have to deal with that stuff anymore.
Whoa! I can imagine the fit G would through if you had cancelled the credit cards!!!! Fit would be putting it mildly! And he had the nerve to do it to you without even telling you. I believe his reason for doing it is a fairy tale. However, he could be paranoid enough to think that. Even so he has absolutely no excuse for not telling you what he did. That is so inexcusable. But you will find a way to excuse it and make allowances for his behavior.

Turns out this credit card thing might be lagit. I guess a guy wearing what looked like a ganitor's uniform bumped into him, and as he walked away said something like get ya later. He told one of the flight attendants about what had happened, and she had told him that this has been happening in this area a lot, and that he should get new cards right away. So he called and talked to whomever for the credit card people, and they said that they would mail us new cards and we should have them in 5-7 days. So we shall see.
I told him I tried to use the card for lunch today and he lectured me on how I was not supposed to be using the card anyway, we had agreed that we wouldn't use the card unless it was an emergency. Well, I ordered the food, went to pay for it, and realized that I had put my last bit of money in the offering at church. So what was I supposed to do? So I got a lecture, which I interruped and put the focus back on the person who might have gotten our credit card information.
Even as I type this, I am havng a hard time believing it, but I spose anything is possible these days.

Well, I stand corrected. I looked at some information a kind person put up here on this site for me, and it seems all the person has to do is get close to your credit card, and their machine thing gets the information from your credit card, like the tap-n-go card readers do. We don't have that capability on our cards, so maybe no information was transfered to this divice, but....

IF this happened, and he cancelled the cards, then he should have told you so that you would know not to use the cards; this was extremely inconsiderate of him. Not to mention abusive!

that is so whacked about the credit cards and very science fiction kind of weird. makes you wonder what will happen when cash no longer exists and everything is done on these cards. seems there will only be rich people and lots and lots of poor people...
