Hi all....Well,I've had a most interesting week!Last Saturday I was admitted to a local hospital with severe chest pain.The long and short of it?I had pericarditis--an inflammation of the sac that surrounds the heart.The good news-not a heart attack,not a blood clot in the lungs.I'm just on anti-inflammitory meds for pain,which anymore is minimal.The cardiologist said it could be caused by-of all things-a viral infection.I wondered about that.I thought maybe it could be a complication of CFS.I see the doctor on Wednesday;I'll pick his brain about that.
I also got a message from facebook the other day.My birthday is coming up on the 30th,and they informed me I could create my own cause and "donate"my birthday and ask my buddies to join the group or make a donation for CFIDS.I'm going to do it and see if I can't at least raise some awareness about it,plus maybe some money.I am a cardholding member of the CFIDS Association.I can try it...what do you guys think?

I am glad you are o.k. Actually last night on Hell's Kitchen one of the contestants had to leave for the very same thing. So something I have never heard of I have now heard of twice in the past 24 hours. I will put you on my prayer list

Thank you.One of my friends from high school told me the same thing today.I wonder if there is a strange flu going around.I wonder how many other people have had it.

I'm sorry you had to go through this Beckie! We want to blame everything on CFIDS but I think we just run into the same kind of troubles as everyone else in most instances. We are more suseptible to infections and such, although since I've had CFIDS I haven't had one single cold or infection of any kind! Our immune systems are in overdrive all the time!
Well, be sure you pick your doctors brains on Wednesday!! I'm sure you will! Beckie gets things done!
As far as the donation to CFIDS.org, people would probably like to do that, but in this economy I don't know if they can afford to! Something to think about, I guess.

I'm sorry you went through that, but glad it's treatable. Our bodies go through much in this life/dimension/existence.
I concur with Darla on the CFS thing. I am so broke, it's not even funny. Had to take my car off the road for lack of funds to repair and insure it. But it's worth a try, and happy birthday to you!

Actually,I'm not "blaming"anything on CFIDS...all I said is I wonder if that traveled to my heart...there is a chance of that.I realize that anybody can get this.I can think outside the realm of CFIDS.
