MONDAY BLAHS Mood
Tuesday, February 24, 2009

so colin's monday was pretty much a monday.  He pushed some students in gym and was told to go to time out. He refused to go and was told to pull a card.  Then he really got mad and he ran out of the room to barricade himself in the bathroom. He came out and kicked two students in the back, and then spit at the teacher and another student.  Someone from teh office came in and waked him out and talked to him about his behavior, he calmed down, but get this!

His excuse was, wait for it: He thought maybe his medicine wore off.  WHAT!! a 6 year old telling a teacher that his medicine wore off at school?!!!!

so he lived the rest of the evening in his room except for dinner time and chose to go to bed at 6:45. Normally he goes to bed at 8:00.  We talked about the consequences and how sitting in time out would have been a lot easier than losing tv, dessert, and company. He's always logical and calm and reasonable afterwards. If we could just get him to THINK before the visceral response, we'd be in the clear.
