I'm a 40yr old father of 4, aged 18yrs, 6yrs, 4yrs & 2yrs old to a beautiful lady I have been with for 9.5 years. Started getting a acidic smell & taste & a feel of Nausea for about 6 months then had a 6 Gran Mal seizures with in a 2yr time frame plus more over a 5yr time frame. I have just had surgery temprolobectomy in May 2009 & it is so far, so good without a seizure since ... Any question & i'll try to help people with my experiences with Epilepsy.

Close Epilepsy & Seizures
I was diagnosed with Epilepsy 4 years ago.Have been through several types of medication but my body after so long builds an immunity to it. Specialist has put me on short list for Brain Surgery, very scared as i dont know much about this type of procedure, Extremely interested in talking to someone that has this surgery on their Right Temporal Lobe to see what the pros & cons are after surgery. The ins, the outs, the highs & the lows, any information would be sincerly apprecated..Thanks
Treatments
- Depakote Not Working
- much the same result as tegratol, but also found myself to be very depressed
- Dilantin Not Working
- Allergic reaction
- Keppra Somewhat Helpful
- Partial seizures still coming through, but once again my body seems to be building an Immunity to it.Mood swings, nausea, stomach cramping,frequent bowel use .... on highest dosage 1500mg twice daily.
- Surgery, Brain Considering
- Last visit to spec.Dr Mark Parsons Australia... Was asked if I was Interested in surgery...I Freaked, but partial still getting through. Spoke with family, agreed with surgery. Now on waiting list. Spec said Topamax is last choice but wants to hold back in case surgery isn't sucessful
- Tegretol Not Working
- weird, built an immunity after 6 months, siezures returned + rapid weight loss +constant body jitters
