42 yr old mother of 3 teenagers, married for 19 yrs diagnosed CFIDS in 2004 and Fibromyalgia in 2005, cannot work, on disability, have no insurance, having to get medical through the county hospital. Recently dxd with IBS, diverticulosis, gastritis.Rheumy only gave flexeril to help sleep, said it would help the pain if I slept better, HAHA, does not help.

losing hope, feel like I have no support, its the typical, if you hurt you must have done something to get hurt.see a psychiatrist for insomnia,depression,moods,anxiety.Have no insurance. I am 41 and feel sooo old. Husband is 44 and is the energizer bunny. He and my 3 teenagers don't understand.

- never worked for me
- Adderall Working / Worked
- worked for a while for fog and concentration and energy, has lost its effect
- Cyclobenzaprine Somewhat Helpful
- working a little, seems to slightly dull pain and tightness for about 2 hours
- Cymbalta Somewhat Helpful
- was a little helpful but added to sleep problems
- Effexor Somewhat Helpful
- did not work for very long
- TENS Working / Worked
- works for a while, alleviates tightness must use almost constantly 20 mins on 10 mins off.
- Zoloft Working / Worked
- worked for a while for depression but now effects seem to have worn off
- Depakote Somewhat Helpful
- for mood swings and anger, was sort of helpful for a while, now its not
- Ambien Somewhat Helpful
- helps to get me to sleep, but I still wake up through the night
- Massage Somewhat Helpful
- helps to calm tension for about a day
Close Adoption
41yr old married mom of 3 teenagers. I was adopted at 3 days old by my wonderful parents(I also have 1 older brother and 1 younger brother)both adopted as infants. I have developed/been diagnosed with many health issues over the last 5 years,CFS,Fibromyalgia,depression,anxiety,insomnia,bipolar,add,pre-diabetic,migraines. Wondering where it all came from(as my children suffer from some of these too),scared of what might be to come still.

17yr old son diagnosed at age 7, we have been playing what I call the medicine merry-go-round for 10 years now. Some work then lose their effects, others exacerbate the mania and rages, others make him a zombie. He has been inpatient 5 times then outpatient. Most recently tried an RTC, they let him come home after 10 days(all better)Ha! 2 days later back to same old, same old. He knows what to do/say to get released. Now working with agency for long term placement.

- works mildly
- Celexa Somewhat Helpful
- he does not need an antidepressant
- Depakote Working / Worked
- works ok for a while, this is another one we keep going back to on the rotations
- Geodon Not Working
- caused rages and mania
- Haldol Somewhat Helpful
- was ok til side effects put him in hospital(massive muscle lock up in face and neck)
- Lithium Working / Worked
- seems to work for longer periods than other meds, but still loses effects,keep going back to it on drug rotations.
- Risperdal Not Working
- 20 pound weight gain in 2 months, took him off.
- Seroquel Working / Worked
- ok for a while, side effects started with increased dosage.(muscle lock up and tics)
- Tegretol Working / Worked
- worked then lost effect
- Topamax Somewhat Helpful
- worked for a lilttle while
- Trileptal Working / Worked
- worked for a while,lost it effect
- Wellbutrin Somewhat Helpful
- caused hypomania(he does not need antidepressants)
- Zyprexa Somewhat Helpful
- mildly helpful at first (lots of weight gain)
Open Families & Friends Of Addicts
Am married to a funtioning alcoholic for 20 yrs,3 teens. Have tried too many times to get him to stop or slow down. Doesn't matter how little money we have, he's got his beer. I have finally reached my breaking point, my psychiatrist said I would. Will attend my first al-anon meeting tonight.
