HI to all! Hope you are all doing well! I dropped out of communication because we built a house in 2007 which took 15 months! It was fun,but very busy! we love our new home and now that we have been in it for 2 yrs things are finally settling down. My treatment is the same gleevec 400mg, not in "Full remission"but PCR is at a very small percentage. Blood counts hover at normal to the low side. Weight gain and trying to lose it has been frustrating, because I seem to have lost the motivation to be as active as I use to be. It feels like my muscles make zero progress when I work out or increase my walking. Muscle cramps don't help much either. Anyone have any tips! Otherwise feeling ok and life is pretty good! Kids are great! We lost one of our dogs to cancer and now have a puppy who is 8 mos old now! Lots of work and fun too. Rylee is a Flatcoated Retriever liver colored and is a sweetie. She and our other dog Taffy a Yorkie-Poo are best friends. My daughter and I have been geocaching and having a lot of fun with that! Adam (son with Down syndrome) loves it too! His bday is today 26! So, that is the reader's digest version update! Looking forward to reconnecting with you! It just is not the same talking with friends who do not have cml! I have missed it :-)
Things are going well. My counts are holding and I am still on Gleevec at 300mg. They are doing another "fish" test. I will here the results sometime this week. The nausea is not too bad, just annoying. I am trying to drink 88oz of water, but I don't quite make it. I have never been good about drinking water. Life is busy here at home and some days are just not good ones physically or mentally! Oh well!I guess that is all part of having this disease. Thanks to God, Family and friends otherwise it would be much harder! Exercising is helping however it really wipes me out at times. I enjoy everyones hugs and updates - Thanks to you all!
Today the rash is not that much better, but I feel better! It is a good day! I went to a friend's mother's funeral today. It was good to see the family. Everyone seemed very at peace with her passing on. She was 81 and had Lung cancer. Vi was a very faithful woman and she is surely with the Lord now.
