I am an Apostolic Christian woman married for 27 years with two grown daughters and one precious granddaughter who is 4. My life centers around my natural family as well as my church family. Close Grandparents Raising Children
My husband and I have received permanent physical custody of our 4 year old grand daughter. She has lived with us most of her life. Her mom and dad are separated. Dad lives in New York and mom lives here in Maryland.
Close Anxiety
Waking up and facing every day challenges was a real chore. Diagosed with GAD and began treatment. I was amazed at how normal I felt after just 2 weeks. Now, I cope pretty well although I have many anxious moments, they are not 24/7.
Treatments
- Lexapro Working / Worked
- Working well although I have gained too much weight.
- Xanax Working / Worked
- Works for me when I am faced with extremely anxious moments.
- Zoloft Working / Worked
- Is not working as well as the Lexapro did. I have many anxious moments, but I feel much better than living on no meds at all.
Open Family & Friends of Bipolar
My daughter is bipolar. She currently is not taking medication. She had threatened suicide.
Open Obesity
I lost 45 pounds about 1 1/2 years ago, and I have gained it all back. I take Lexapro for anxiety and have recently heard that many who take this gain weight. I need to loose it! I hate it! I could probably loose 80 to 100 pounds to be where I should be. Help!
Open Alzheimer's Disease
Stage: Early OnsetMy mom has experienced gradual memory loss over the past 2 years. The doctor told us that we should prepare for the future when she will no longer be able to take care of herself. I am sad about this, and try very hard to be patient with her. The doctor has prescribed 2 meds now in hopes that they will slow down the process.

My daughter is white and now engaged to a black man who was previously married and has 2 mixed daughters. They are a beautiful family and I support them. My parents and family are not so supportive and tension is thick when they enter a room. I pray they will come to know Ron and his girls and love them as my husband and I do.
