Hello family
I need to share a story that happened to me yesterday- I am still flabbergasted !
The place I live in here Costa Rica, had a refigerator that worked so so. In the last 4 months it has gotten worse and I seem to have been throwing out food as fast as I could shop. It is very humid here and warm but the refrig. just seems to at best keep the temp cooler that the outside ambient temps. So, things were rotting and mold seems to be growing even inside the closed , refrigerated items. It was really driving me nuts , stress and wasting money I don't have to waste, not to mention having to throw out all this "freshly" purchased food!
Well, Tuesday I was sharing this with one of my students after class as I went to get him some soda and plantains I had made. That was that and I ,as expected with small talk just let it go at that.
Yesterday afternoon at 4:45pm a truck pulls up out front and asked if I was Don Phil. I said yes and they said that they had a dilevery for me. I said that I never made any purchases and had no idea of anything that was scheduled to be delivered. They then produced a paid in full receipt for a BRAND NEW GE REFRIGERATOR to be delivered to me, I am like holy shit, what's up with this !!!!
They took the old unit away and left me, in it's place this GE refrig still wrapped in plastic with the receipt and instructions for this brand new unit.
What can I say ! I made a phone call to my student and asked him if he was behind this . He said, "don't worry about it, enjoy it for many years to come, and everything is to your liking I hope".
My DS family friends, I had tears in my eyes from this magnificent gesture of friendship and sharing. I told him , I don't want any charity or free gifts, and he said to me-this is neither just sharing and caring with another who is deserving....
So, I know many of my DS family members are all walking along the road of life . I wanted to share this with you and show that we DO GET what we need in it's proper time. I hope this true story will inspire, encourage , strengthen your resolve and perhaps bring a smile to your faith too.

You know there is a whole lot of good people in this world more than there is bad people its just we hear the bad things more than the good things. So glad you have a new fridge now and eating fresh and saving money. Big hugs to the guy who came to your rescue.

I am from the Serentiy Room, and just gave you a much needed cyber hug and thought I would have a look at your profile.
This story is amazing, and has just made an old woman .. lol :) .. feel that there is some justice in the world.
These things mean more to me than anything, and I just love hearing genuine stories like this, I like to think I help people in anyway I can.
It restores your faith in human nature when someone does that, and as Mary has said, my VERY good friend Gypsylass, it is always the bad things that we hear of.
