I have a sister and a brother. I LOVE all animals but I am especially partial to dogs. Right now I have an 11 year old Scottish Terrier (my friend nicknamed her Scottish Terror because she is always into mischief). Her birthday is exactly one week before mine (08-25) and her name is Molly.

Close Lupus
I was just diagnosed with lupus 3 months ago but I was in limbo for over a year. I wasn't ready to hear the truth. I had all of the signs and symptoms but I just refused to accept it. I have had fatigue and pain off and on for years but it was so much worse than what I had ever had before. I was diagnosed with endometriosis at age 15 which they say is also an autoimmune disorder. I will never give up. I never went through depression over this, I refused to let this get me down.
Treatments
- Plaquenil Working / Worked
- I still have some pain and fatigue at times.
- Prednisone Working / Worked
- I'm on a low dose so I don't have many side effects, but my pain and the fatigue have returned.
Close Endometriosis
I was diagnosed with endometriosis when I was 15 Have had surgery several times, was on BCP, had shots (went off of BCP) b/c I found out I have lupus and I didn't want to hemorrhage. My Rheumy says I can take it so I am now on Depo-Provera. 3 months after going off of the BCP, I find out I have 3 ovarian cysts on my left ovary (I only have 1 ovary b/c my right one was removed when I was 13 due to a cyst that was 9 cm around (the size of a grapefruit).

- So far so good (I gave myself the first shot on 09/10/08).

Open Asthma
The doctor tells me I have asthma (a few years ago). I think he's wrong. I think it is the lupus attacking my lungs. When I had PFTs done for a job when I was 20 they told me that I had the lungs of a smoker. I have never smoked, I have only been around it secondhand, which I know, is worse.

- It has helped but lately I am having a hard time "catching my breath".

- I already have a fast heartrate. This could make it worse. I refuse to take this which sucks b/c it is the best one for asthma.

Open High Blood Pressure

Open GERD & Heartburn
I have more problems than people twice my age! I was diagnosed with a hiatal hernia when I was 18 (It runs in my dad's side of the family).
