Reflection on Sunday Gospel, Mark 10:35-45 - James and John ask an unusual request of Jesus, they want places of honor and high status beside Jesus when he comes into his glory. Jesus tells them that the path to glory leads through great suffering and then tells them that the reward is not his to give. Jesus DOES understand our most profound sufferings and pain.

Yes He does understand! We are also here to serve and be humble in doing so. Even in pain and suffering we can set an example of how a Christian should be.
