Reflection on Sunday Gospel, Mark 10:17-27 - A young man who had the best the world could offer came to Jesus. He wanted the lasting peace and happiness money couldn’t buy. The answer he got wasn’t what he was looking for. So when Jesus challenged him to make God his one true treasure, he became dismayed. Are you willing to part with what might keep you from seeking true joy with Jesus?

Things are just things. We can't take them with us when we go. So why cherish them to the point of forfeiting Jesus's love? Those who say 'Money doesn't buy happiness' were never poor. Obviously we need what we need. But to have more than we need , now that begs the question. Sometimes that leads to opening the door for satan to come in and ruin our chances for eternal life in Heaven!
