I had formed a group a while back for positive thinking type stuff. The purpose was actually a bit more specfic than simply sharing positive thoughts, but that's beside the point for now.

I didn't have time to do much with it, and niether, it seemed, did the few members that joined, save one. One day I noticed she was a member of another positive thinking group I hadn't seen when I searched before opening my own. That one has over six hundred members, so I joined up, sent out a notice to my own group and closed it.

That was about two weeks ago. Then I began to notice I was getting anywhere from ten to fifteen PM's per day from the group founder. All just short positive messages. Nice, but I really don't need so many of them clogging up my inbox. I just don't have the time to read that many every day, and deleting them was getting annoying.

Went into my group settings and shut of all notifications (they were the same as posts she makes there - so I figured they were alerts, but even after shutting all alerts off, I still keep getting them.

No offense to anyone there. Maybe it's just a glitch in the DS alert system, but that's just too much stuff in my inbox, and I really don't want to keep deleting them, so I left the group.

Positive thinking is great, but man I need time to put the thinking to work. I just don't have time to sit around reading about it all day!

Got to get some things done, not just talk about it all the time!

It used to be nicely square! now my beautiful galaxy looks all squashed!

Well, I suppose that's what i get for not checking in for so long. Just trying to have a life man!

To heck with it. It'll just have to be squashed for a while!

Guess I came on too strong in the beginning with my new internship.

Hell, I warned him! I know it can happen, why hide it? I think it's better to let them know up front that I'm aware I'm like this, then to let them simply think I'm just a JERK.

No problem really. My boss knows privately, and is keeping an eye. Good thing I was prepared to hear (or more accurately "read") it publically. He basically told me to "Shut up and fade into the background for now," on a forum where the rest could read it.

Well, okay, he didn't say it in those words. That was my own interpretation. What he really said was, "You're way ahead of the game. I let you in so you could see what was going on, and keep tabs until I'm ready for you. I haven't yet had the time to set priorities or roles, but should be ready by September. For now, it would be best to just lay low and maintain radio silence."

Well, I also got a prvate message from him last week threatening to "muzzle my ass!" It was all in good humor though. He ended it with "Luv ya!" 

Well, after the public post, I sent him a PM with this:

At least he thought it was funny!

Hell, why hide it? I can be a loud poster, and I know it.

Anyway, I was just trying to get some direction, and the whole project looked like a mess of some people knowing what to do, and others doing basically nothing. I was one of the second group, and well, THAT wasn't going to fly!

So I made noise until I finally found some things to do to at lest learn more about the system. That'll keep me busy until he's ready.

I bet I bugged some people in the process, but you know, I'm sick to death of being left in the freakin' dust, and it AIN'T gonna happen this time!
