I'm 38 years old, and I work in the health and human service field. I was diagnosed with Juvenile Rheumatoid Arhtritis at the age of 5. I have had a total jaw replacement and am going in for a total hip replacement in a few days.

Just thinking of you and wanted to say hi. I hope you are feeling ok, I haven't heard how your doing lately and I am a little worried. Also I waned to let you know that I participate in the Arthritis walk (this will be my second year) I do this in memory of my father, since he passed away from complications from his RA. I will also be walking for myself since I was just diagnosed with severe Osteo Arthritis of my jaw and also you will be on my mind as well. I am so sorry that you have to suffer from this terrible disease, please let me know if there is anything I can ever do for you. Stay strong and may God bless you:)

I was diagnosed at 5 with JRA. I have it throughout my entire body...toes up to jaw. I had a total jaw replacement almost two years ago after two previous failed surgeries and one of my hips is next. I've tried every medication under the sun and after a bad allergic reaction to Remicade which was helping me for a while, I now do Orencia infusions every four weeks, as well as oral medications and cortisone injections.
Treatments
- Acupressure Working / Worked
- It worked well for me, but it's too expensive to pay out of pocket.
- Anti-Inflammatory Diet Not Working
- Bextra Not Working
- Feldene Not Working
- Glucosamine/Chondroitin Not Working
- Ibuprofen Not Working
- Ketoprofen Not Working
- Medrol Somewhat Helpful
- Naproxen Not Working
- Pain Management Clinic Not Working
- Relafen Somewhat Helpful
- Became immune after a couple of years
- Surgery, Knee Replacement Working / Worked
- Had a total jaw replacement. AFter almost two years, still have nerve pain, but I can at least open my mouth now.
- Swimming Somewhat Helpful
