Close Diverticulitis

I was diagnosed with diverticulitis at age 41 - first stay in hospital was 7 days; three more hospitalizations of several days followed. I had a colectomy five months after being diagnosed and was in the hospital for two weeks - that was tough. I just had - 3 1/2 years later my first confirmed relapse - no fever, but I went to the hospital with horrible pain and a CT scan and bloodwork confirmed an active episode.

Cipro Working / Worked

Worked - many treatments of cipro and flagyl

High Fiber Diet Working / Worked

Seems to keep me out of the dr's office and hospital - I need to be more diligent about diet and especially exercise

Levaquin Working / Worked

Have taken this in the past - believe it worked fine

Flagyl Working / Worked

Works well with cipro - long treatment - no particularly bad side effects
