Now, if I could only get my right big toe to stop aching! Funny, this is not only all inflamed from the skin problem associated with my chemo treatment...but I am realizing is the very same one that was sprained many moons ago. I was carrying Andy (brand new baby) down the stairs when I tripped and fell all the way down. Paying more attention to him than myself (obviously) my toes on the right foot sort of flip-flopped on the way down. The sprain was actually to the tendon. The Doc at the emergency said "stay off your feet for a bit." Once again, he needed a reality check...new baby...stay off one's feet? Don't think so!!!
Anyways, this and the fact that I have chewed up the inside of my cheek means "pain" and I am a bit grouchy for it. That doesn't mean that I haven't had a good day, however.
Have soup cooking, minestrone, and it is making the entire house smell delightful. I use lots of fresh veggies and a head of roasted garlic. Add to this a pesto cube from the freezer and some Italian noodles!!!
Mackie just returned from the golf shop. He won a gift certificate to it during the tourney last week.
Just found out that my scan is on the 7th of October. The Doctor is having it digitally copied so I can take it to Florida with me. I have a feeling that things will look good...well, good for
someone with OvCa that is.
Sure was cool seeing your artwork, Julie. It is quite a pensive sort of pose. Thanks for sharing with all of us. What a talented group of women we have here.
Well, I just resorted to putting on a sweatshirt. I am freezing! Good that I made soup for tonight and will consider a bath later. Can't wait till Mac has our house bought and ready to move into!!! Yippeee.
hugs to all, lindamae

Hope your toe feels better soon. You soup sounds wonderful ....I can smell it here in Michigan and my mouth is watering. It is cold here and just wondering if you are getting the cold front also. It is suppose to get down to 40 tonight.......Summer is gone.....
Looking forward to great news on you property in Florida! Can't wait to be your neighbor....Warm hugs!

Strange.. I also have a sore toe.. but don't seem to be suffering too much from the chemo this time.. probably because, relatively, I feel so much better than when I was in hospital. Still not great but so much better that this chemo doesn't feel like such a big deal just now. I think the Vit B6 might be helping too as I don't have a sore mouth or skin, though I usually feel worse during the third week with doxil. Helps to think there is just one more dose to go adn that there will be a chance of a break and some normal life..
I am also excited and looking forward to you finding a home in the sun.. It cheers me up to think of you in the climate you love best. I don't like winter any more and am dreading the colder weather this year.. I think because I have lost so much weight and padding I don't seem to be able to generate my own heat and am often very chilled. Just want to be in the warm.
Warm hugs for lots of better days.. xxx

Lindamae your Minestrone sounds wonderful. Have not have that in years. Would soaking your toe help? I am so envious of everyone's cooler weather. Oh well. Love and hugs, Anita

Dear Lindamae
Sorry to hear about your aching toe and chewed up cheek, however things could be much worse...Just listening about your minestrone has made me hungry, which always is an issue on steroids. Keep us posted on Florida and good luck with next week`s CT scan. Lots of love,
xx Linda

Hi Lindamae, Your soup sounds delicious. I, too, am freezing and would love to warm up with a good bowl of soup. Last night I was bundled up in a fleece football blanket despite wearing jeans and a sweatshirt. My son, however, was wearing short sleeves, and my husband was dressed in shorts and short sleeves. So there was no chance to turn on the heat in the house. The high today is barely supposed to make it to 60. Fall is definitely in the air around here. My best wishes for a tremendously successful hunting trip for Mac. May he find a fabulous bargain! Much love, Janet

Hi Lindamae, I wish I could send you a few degrees of our heat. It has been 101 the past couple days and supposed to get up to that again today. I prefer heat to cold though. My joints hurt too much when its cold.
I can relate to your sore toe as I suffer with an ingrown toenail on one of my big toes. Its amazeing how something like that can hurt so much.
I also am getting my CT on Oct. I don.t know how you feel about them but I have very mixed feeling about it. Dread the results on one hand but am anxious on the other to see what going on. Hope your goes well.
Take Care,hugs carol

Thanks everyone. Just was trying to catch some bugs for the praying mantis I found yesterday. Plan to take it down to Eugene with me this afternoon for the girls to see. We can always let him/her lose together.
It's another cool day and I am thinking, like Beth, that summer is officially gone. Brrrr. I never had the trouble with the cold before I had the surgery and chemo. Now, I just am hugging myself and adding sweatshirts.
The soup was delish. Funny, Bess emailed me and she needs my recipe for Corn Chowder before Thursday. I love the way with a few things in the cupboard and some veggies one can fix a big pot of "pure soul."
Inka you are so lucky not to be dealing with all the Doxil skin issues. Last night I could hardly get to sleep because my legs were itchy and spotted with red bumps. Add the painful toe and chewed up cheeks and it was amazing that I did sleep.
Then, I awoke to a dream that two huge Siberian tigers attacked an equally huge whale right off my brother's dock! ha ha. Now an alligator might be more realistic.
Well, time to go pack and get myself ready for a two-hour drive. I'd take the train but wouldn't be able to get home on time with the return schedule.
Love the convenience of not driving when possible.
Carol, 101 sounds pretty warm for the end of September! Is that usual for your area? I can't wait to "try out" semi tropical weather!!!
hugs to all and thanks for the nice thoughts. lindamae

The 101 temp is unusual. Also we had almost no rain for the year. Under 3 inches. My front and back yard is all dirt as it is too expensive to water grass.
Not really complaining though as things could be alot worse.
Wow''' What a terrible dream you had. Hope you have a trip, take care. hugs.

I love fall, the crisp weather and things like soup and cider. I hate winter, though, with gray days and cold. It is chillier than normal here in Maryland so I put the winter quilt on the bed last night. It is good sleeping weather!
