    Dear Lindame
I`m sending you some NJ sunshine even though I`m writing from MSKCC, NYC. Hope you had a terrific Open House. Is this moving week? Lots of Love,
    xxLinda

    Dear Lindamae
I`m sorry to hear that you`ve been chewing on the inside of your mouth, however I`ve done it numerous times.I was fortunate that this was an "off week" of chemo so I haven`t had the distress I`ll be enduring next week :( Our weather in NJ is absolutely gorgeous:leaves changing and falling and sunny daytime temperatures in the mid 50s. You`ll have to let me know when the majority of DS ladies are gathered in Florida, possibly I can jump on a plane and meet some of my "wonderful sisters". My mother was always a fan of iced coffee, possibly that will help you mouth heal :) Stay well.
    xxLinda

    Dear Lindamae,
I'm so sorry to hear about the passing of your mother. Thank goodness you were able to be with her - I'm sure she knew you were nearby and like you said, she probably was waiting and holding on until you could come to her side. She is at peace now, and I hope that you will be, too. By all you've told us, you were a wonderful daughter to her, and she must have known, even if she didn't always express it in a tangible way.
Now you have another chapter in your life and new experiences to look forward to . . . and your family (Mac, your children and grandchildren) will be there for you and with you. Many hugs and prayers to you, xxxx LuEllen

I'm so glad it went easier for you than I would have imagined. That's just one of the ways about you that is encouraging about life - that it goes on. I know you know that there will be days, as with all loss, that it may not be as easy, but I sure am glad you are packing! I can't wait to hear from you from FL and that you will take the time to rest, though a fancy drink sounds good to me - wish I could have one! I have a question about the arrangements but will wait for another day to ask. I can't wait to get premium cable someday! I have a "thing" about not contributing to the cable companies that still go above ground and require boxes like here! I refuse to hook our TV to a box like in the 1980's! What a place this is I live in...neither city nor country but just plain backwards! Miss you much and hugs back at you! Molly B.

Dear Linda and family, I am so sorry that your mother passed but I am very relieved that you were there and had some time to be by her side. Also it's nice that you had some time with the staff, as well. I hope you know that my love and thoughts are with you and that Andy and Bess and the grandchildren will be able to be at peace with this also. Perhaps your way of dealing with it will be an inspiration to the younger ones. All of our love, Molly B. and Bruce

Hi Lindamae, I've been trying to reply to you earlier than now but I was so tired when I got home from work most of the days last week that I just fell asleep after dinner. Then this past weekend we went to Chicago to see our newest grandson. He's now 6 weeks old and is a sweet little guy. He's now smiling and I just love it when babies do that.

Thank you for the suggestion about John Connolly. I just have to have something like that to read and have read almost all the works of my favorite authors. Now that I finished that masters degree I'm practically in "hog heaven" reading fiction again. I started the masters degree in 2004 and had to give up something to find the time to do the academic work. What I gave up was fiction so it's a real pleasure to be back to reading for fun again.

I'll keep you posted on where we go in my counseling sessions. I do like the kind of therapy that I'm getting now. I'm glad to hear you can have a chemo break. I have round four this Friday and am not eager to go through it but will do what it takes. I'm going to check in with the nurse tomorrow because I'm getting some neuropathy.

It sounds as though things are coming together nicely for the move. It should be an exciting next few weeks! Much love, Janet

    Hi Lindamae,
You sound so upbeat and excited about moving to Florida!
Here's a little sunshine to get you in the mood. Congratulations on your CA125 being stable - that must be a relief to hear, with the move coming up. Love your comment about hurricanes :-) That's great that you've already found a cancer center in Florida - that, too must be comforting to know. Don't wear yourself out packing, lots of hugs and safe travels to the sunshine state! xxx LuEllen

  • Congrats

    Lindaheff (10/16/09)

    Dear Lindamae
I`m sending lots of congratulations your way for your stable CA levels, respite from chemo and last oncologist visit, in Oregon. It`s great to hear that you`ve already found a Ft. Meyers oncologist and will be closing in 17 days. This sounds like the beginning of a new journey...
    Lots of love,
    xxlinda
