  Hi I have spinal stenosis and was diagnosed about 2 months ago, been to see the surgeon due to the sciatic pain I am suffering at the moment, "it is hell", and I never thought pain could be this bad, and I have suffered months and months of this. Tomorrow I am going for an epidural as a day care patient, but I have read what you have said about your treatment not working, and now I am worrying this is not going to work for me. It is so frustrating when you cannot seem to ease the pain, I have been on morphine for the past two weeks to see if this helps, but you cannot live on morphine? I also have Fibromyalgia which makes my pain feel worse I suppose, but the surgeon has not told me he is worried there is pressure in my neck which is causing weakness in my arms and hands, it just seems to go on and on. I know the only thing that helps me is heat, I use a microwaveable pad that I put on my back and I have also bought myself an electric heat pad, and this does help. I have also discovered that if I lie as flat as possible only one pillow at night then the pain is not quite to bad, but I spend many sleepless nights, I expect you know just what I mean. I will let you know how I get on tomorrow. I have heard of a procedure where they fuse the nerves is this what you are talking about. Would love to hear from you, we seem to have a lot in common Hugs Sue UK

  Groundhog Day is almost here so lets spread some cheer and say some prayers Spring is almost here. I'm sending Rainbows with all those spring showers we are bound to see some and lots of flowers. Hugs
