Tami thank you for your advice. It has given morelight on the whole thing. I think my mom may have PKD. She said she would get an ultra sound. Until then I go day by day. I am feeling good. I walk 2 miles every day and sometimes an addional bike ride or walk the beach. I live on Cape Cod. I love my family and pray that my son does not get this from me. He is so young, I can't have him tested until much later. Sorry to hear that dialysis is in your future. What excactly is it? I need to research this and transplantation. Being a RN you are filled with all the knowledge of PKD. I will pray for you TAmi. Thank you again ;) MargoC

Close Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD)
I am 40 years old and was diagnosed with PKD at 21. My mom's mom passed away at 49 after being on dialysis for 13 years. My mom is 58 and started dialysis two weeks ago. Two years ago my function was at 73%, and now it's down to 44%. I'm just looking to talk to people who understand how scared I am.
