Close Bipolar Disorder
I'm 51 and got diagnosed only about 2 years ago. Nobody in my family was surprised, except me. lol
Treatments
- Abilify Not Working
- made me have minor seizures
- Trileptal Somewhat Helpful
- it's the first med that has worked at all for me. But I feel mentally sluggish. online IQ tests have me down about 10 points since I started taking it.
- Clonazepam Working / Worked
- I take 1/4 of a .5mg pill as a 'rescue' pill. Takes the edge off when I'm having a manic problem
- Prozac Working / Worked
- prozac. I'm not on it currently
Close Bell's Palsy
I got bells palsy on the left side of my face 9 years ago. 3 years later, it hit the right side. Both times the pain was hideous. It lasted 6 weeks. the paralysis has lasted forever on the left side. It has resolved pretty well on the right. I used to have an acute sense of smell and taste...they are gone. I miss my smile. I feel like a freak.
Treatments
- Prednisone Working / Worked
- took one dose. The second time I had bells. It put my blood sugar through the roof...like almost 400! didn't take any more.
Open Pancreatitis
On 2/8/08 I was diagnosed with pancreatitis. My father-in-law and my daughters father-in-law both died from it. Needless to say, my husbnd and I were terrified. At this point 2 weeks have passed and I'm doing good, but it was a life altering event for us.
Open Diabetes Type 2
52 years old. I've had diabetes since I was 35. I've pretended that I didn't have it, sometimes, been good, others. I got graves disease when I was 24-25, but it didn't get diagnosed for 10 years...(great medical system of the military) by then my thyroid had all but died. 10 years of depression and weight gain, lead to diabetes.
Treatments
- Avandia Working / Worked
- Eating Healthier Foods Working / Worked
- always works, just depressing sometimes.
- Glipizide Working / Worked
- Metformin Working / Worked
- found out just how well it works, recently, when I had to be off it for 5 days because of a CT scan.
